Mitsubishi Heads to TAS 2025 with Three Custom-Built Triton Pick-Ups

Mitsubishi heads to the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 with a trio of customised Triton pick-up trucks and an SUV concept.
The Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 (TAS 2025) is literally around the corner, and Mitsubishi Motors has finally unveiled its product lineup for the motorshow. Leading the three-diamond marque’s pack at the show are a trio of customised Triton pickup trucks, with each of them featuring their own distinctive themes and styling.

Starting with the first one, this Triton pick-up truck is customised by Mitsubishi’s brand ambassador, Japanese comedian Hiromi. Based on the Yamabuki orange-hued GSR variant (or Athlete for our market) of the new Triton, this customised truck has been lowered to the ground while riding on street-style Volk Racing TE37 wheels and dressed in a sporty bodykit. Also present here are a slew of dark-hued trims, such as the front hood visor, the fuel cap panel, and the special sportbar with an integrated spoiler.

The second build is a customised Triton pick-up truck that was specifically designed to support Red Bull Japan’s roadshows and events around the country. Essentially a DJ set on wheels, this special Triton comes with a complete DJ booth set on its flatbed, plus a canopy top that can be partially opened.
The final of the Triton trio heading to the show will be the winning truck for a custom truck contest organised by the automaker. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi has yet to announce the winner for this competition, so your guesses are just as good as ours on how this customised Triton might look.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Night Seeker Concept
Apart from the Triton trio, Mitsubishi will also be showcasing a special concept SUV based on the Outlander PHEV. Built in collaboration with Japanese game developer Konami, this Outlander PHEV concept is inspired by the renowned espionage game series, Metal Gear Solid, as part of Konami’s promotional campaign for the latest addition in the series, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Cordially known as the Night Seeker Concept, this special SUV comes dressed in a unique black camouflage livery while carrying a slew of additional equipment, such as the transparent front bumper shield, rugged fender extensions, a roof rack with a built-in LED bar, as well as the all-black wheels shod in knobby off-road tyres the SUV rides on.

Mitsubishi Delica D:5 Black Edition Active Seeker
Should you want the similar stealth aesthetic in a more practical MPV form, perhaps the Delica D:5 Black Edition Active Seeker would make a better suit for you. Although this customised MPV bears no connection to Konami’s MGS campaign, this special Delica D5 gets the same rugged makeover as the Outlander concept mentioned above, albeit this one is inspired by the topography of Tokachi, Hokkaido, where Mitsubishi’s proving ground is located.

Topping off Mitsubishi’s showcase at TAS 2025 are the Ralliart-branded Triton race truck used for last year’s Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) in Thailand, as well as the upgraded Delica D:5 and Delica Mini support vehicles.
