Wuling Indonesia became the first Chinese automaker to produce power batteries in the republic when its first power battery, Magic Battery, also known as Shenlian in Chinese, rolled off the assembly line on December 31, 2024.

The project, which took 4.5 months to complete from conception to production, is a testament to Wuling's sustained dedication to helping Indonesia's electric vehicle market grow.
For the record, SGMW initially debuted the Magic Battery brand in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 20, 2024, and said that the battery would be produced locally in Indonesia that same year. 63743f3fa31049178c91017d.jpeg

With an energy density of over 165 Wh/kg, a charge and discharge efficiency of over 96%, a life of over 6,500 cycles, and a peak power of over 300 kW, the magic battery was redesigned with L-shaped tabs rather than the conventional U-shaped tabs to reduce the possibility of internal short circuits.
Wuling is reaffirming its commitment to the Indonesian electric vehicle market and aims to dominate 64% of the market by the start of 2024 in order to become the country's top EV brand. During this first quarter, BinguoEV sold over 3,000 units, making it the best-selling electric vehicle as of right now. In the meantime, Wuling's Air ev, Indonesia's first electric car, has sold 700 units overall in the same time frame. 934ba875-1774-44a8-a399-8089038da5a7.jpeg
