Launched: 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper Facelift – From RM195,450

Tesla Malaysia officially launched the face-lifted 2025MY Tesla Model Y (codenamed as 'Project Juniper' prior) locally earlier today. Just two variants are available priced from RM195,450 onwards.
The world’s best-selling car, by which we mean the refreshed Tesla Model Y, has officially arrived in Malaysia. The model was officially launched and publicly showcased locally for the first time today at the swanky Pavilion Damansara Heights shopping haven.
Codenamed ‘Project Juniper’, the face-lifted 2025MY Tesla Model Y EV crossover SUV has been opened for bookings online since its global debut last month. Just two guises are offered locally, those being the base Model Y RWD and higher-specced Model Y Long Range AWD.
Following today’s launch, local deliveries are slated to begin from April onwards, and all Malaysia-bound units roll off the line from the marque’s Shanghai Gigafactory in China. Base prices, on the other hand, starts from RM195,450 (RWD) and RM242,450 (Long Range AWD) before options and insurance.

The marque confirmed that deliveries for Malaysia will begin from April this year.
Initial units that will be delivered first will be ‘Launch Series’ specials that sport special tailgate badge, puddle light logo, side sill skid plates, and “vegan leather” dash trim. These units also gain an ‘Acceleration Boost’ function added that – aptly – brings a temporary power boost function.
Tesla didn’t specify just how many Launch Series units it will produce, only stating that this special edition is open for orders in the first month only. Besides that, the brand also elected not to disclose outputs, battery capacities, as well as details surrounding which – typical of the marque.
Instead, Tesla elected to put out claims of the base RWD variant being capable of despatching 0-100 KM/H in just 5.9 secs and cover up to 466 KM (WLTP). The Long Range AWD, on the other hand, sports a quicker 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 4.3 secs and a WLTP-rated max range figure of 551 KM.

The firm also confirmed that initial units delivered will be in 'Launch Series' form that sports a number of unique additions including an added 'Acceleration Boost' function.
As detailed prior, the biggest change in the Model Y ‘Juniper’ are evident in its exterior styling, with this latest iteration of the EV crossover sporting a full-width light bar up front. Both its front- and rear fascia were heavily re-profiled, prompting new rear windscreen plus new 19- and 20-inch wheels.
On board, changes to the Model Y’s cabin mirror what seen in its Model 3 sedan twin. Improvements here include a larger new 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, customisable ambient lighting, ventilated seats, as well as an added 8-inch rear touchscreen on the back of the centre console.
Other notable improvements include the adoption of double-glazed acoustic glass, power-reclining rear seats, the return of a rear parcel-shelf, followed by heightened cabin noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) suppression levels via new wheels and tyres plus revised body castings.

There are plenty of changes to note inside and out, the most obvious of which being this EV crossover's styling.
Lastly, options available mirror what’s seen before and currently in the Model 3. It includes four paintjob options priced between RM5,00 to RM11,000, the choice for a white interior priced at RM5,000, and a 20-inch ‘Helix 2.0’ wheels option tagged at RM11,000.
Also offered as cost-options here are both the marque’s Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self Driving suites. These are priced at RM16,000 and RM32,000 respectively.
