LTU Expressway Not Opening For Aidilfitri - Works Minister

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi denied claims that the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) Expressway would be open for Aidilfitri, as seen in a recent video circulating online.
He stated that Section 4A, between Raub, Kuala Lipis, and Gua Musang, is still under construction and is expected to be completed on August 26.
“I was informed by the Public Works Department (PWD) that construction progress on this route has reached 83.21 per cent,” he said in a Bernama report.

Nanta cautioned that sharing unverified information could jeopardize the safety of other motorists and lead to potential dangers. He acknowledged that road users were keen to utilize the new route, especially for their Aidilfitri travels, but advised against spreading unconfirmed information.
The LTU is a high-impact project under the works ministry that consists of six packages spanning over 300 kilometres from Kelantan to Pahang, with a RM10 billion budget allocation.
Section 3J, among other things, calls for the construction of a new four-lane two-way road spanning 6.95 kilometres from Kampung Seberang Jelai to Kampung Relong, as well as the construction of five bridges, all of which are planned to be finished by July 2024.
When completely finished in 2026, the expressway is estimated to benefit two million road users, particularly during the festive season.
