163 Putra Heights Victims Get Free Vehicle Document Replacements

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has provided a total of 163 replacement vehicle documents free of charge to victims affected by the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor, which occurred last week.
Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, the director-general of JPJ, announced that these documents were issued through the JPJ Mobile Counter at the relief center (PPS) located at the Putra Heights Mosque. The initiative ran for four days (April 4 to 6).
The complimentary service included the issuance of 114 Vehicle Ownership Certificates (VOC), 28 Competent Driving Licences (CDL), 17 Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), and 4 Goods Driving Licences (GDL).

In addition to replacing lost or damaged documents, JPJ also received 19 applications for CDL renewals and provided advisory services to 58 victims regarding vehicle insurance.
This mobile counter service are meant to alleviate the burden on victims by allowing them to replace their vehicle documents without needing to file a police report, a process that would typically be required in such cases.
The gas pipeline explosion, which took place last week, has displaced 305 families, with 219 homes and 365 vehicles damaged - 275 cars and 56 motorcycles.
Datuk Aedy further highlighted that JPJ’s swift and compassionate response highlights the agency’s commitment in supporting the local community during times of crisis, ensuring that affected individuals can begin to recover and resume their normal lives as quickly as possible.
