Auto Shanghai 2025: Mazda EZ-60 Debuts

Mazda has officially debuted the all-new EZ-60 electric SUV for Auto Shanghai 2025 that opened its doors today. Closely based on the ARATA concept, the production model brings advanced technology, sleek styling, and two distinct powertrain choices.
Measuring 4,850 MM long with a 2,902 MM wheelbase, 1,935 MM wide and 1,620 MM tall, the EZ-60 boasts a coupe-like, aerodynamic profile accentuated by a black floating roof and dual-tone paint finish that give it a bold, modern presence.

Inside, the EZ-60 features a digital-first cabin dominated by a sweeping 26.45-inch 5K ultra-wide display. It handles infotainment, vehicle settings, and climate control, while rear passengers get their own screens for added comfort. Present here too is a high-end 23-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system.
Despite its sleek shape, the EZ-60 offers 350 litres of cargo space, which is expandable to 2,036 litres with the rear seats folded. The BEV version even includes a 126-litre ‘frunk’ and over 20 practical storage solutions throughout the cabin.

Safety is a top priority, evidenced through nine airbags lining the cabin and the addition of a Level 2-rated driver assistance system supported by 360-degree sensor coverage. The EV’s battery protection system, developed with CATL and CALB, includes eight layers of safety and is built to exceed 2026 regulations.

The range-extended EZ-60 REEV uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with a 31.7-kWh battery, and a 255 HP rear-mounted e-motor. Based on similar models, it may offer up to 160 KM of EV-only range and up to 1,300 KM combined.

Mazda hasn’t released full specs for the BEV EZ-60 yet, but it’s expected to align with setups seen in the Deepal S07, which packs an 80 kWh battery to yield up to 628 KM of claimed EV range.
Following its launch at Auto Shanghai 2025, the EZ-60, as reported prior, will enter global markets as the Mazda CX-6e would, leveraging Mazda’s international presence. Could this possibly include Malaysia too? We can only speculate…
