Kelantan Set To Receive 8 Electric Buses Worth RM11.2mil.
Eight RM11.2 million electric buses are expected to be delivered to Kelantan, serving four new routes in the east coast state, namely Kota Baru to Pengkalan Chepa and Kota Baru to Pantai Cahaya Bulan, according to CEO of Konsortium E-Mutiara Bhd Che Ibrahim Che Ismail.
The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) is set to determine the pricing structure for the electric buses, slated to commence operations within the state this July, as reported by NST.

In addition, complimentary ridership will be extended to all students, encompassing those enrolled in higher education institutions, individuals with disabilities, and senior citizens, as confirmed by Che Ibrahim.
Students will, however, be required to apply for a special pass online," he said, adding that the company would encourage cashless payment solutions for people utilizing the electric buses.

For the record, Smart Selangor now operates electric buses on the SA1 route that connects the Shah Alam KTM station to Section 7 of the city. In January, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that Prasarana will shift towards electric vehicles following the acquisition of 310 diesel buses, with a subsequent purchase of 250 EV buses planned.
