Rapid KL has extended the operating hours of its bus lane in Jalan Ampang, now going from 4.30 PM to 7 PM.
Rapid KL, together with the Selangor Public Works Department (JKR), has announced the extended operating hours of the bus lane in Jalan Ampang. According to its official statement, Rapid KL announced that the new operating hours will be from 4.30 PM to 7 PM from Monday to Friday, taking effect from May 19 onwards.

This bus lane operating hours extension will apply to the 0.62 km stretch that goes from the Jalan Memanda 1 intersection to the Jalan Memanda 9 intersection, as well as from the Jalan Cengal intersection to the traffic light intersection of Jalan Wawasan Ampang.

Rapid KL also added that this bus lane operation extension is expected to benefit bus passengers along Jalan Ampang, which includes several key bus routes like Route 300 from Pandan Indah to Lebuh Ampang, Route 303 from Hentian Mulia to Lebuh Ampang, as well as feeder bus routes from Pandan Indah, Bukit Indah, Mulia Jaya, and Lembah Jaya.
Since its introduction back in July 2023, the Rapid KL bus lane in Jalan Ampang has been well-received by the public, with bus ridership on the route seeing daily numbers grow from 12,819 passengers to 14,424 passengers—marking a 12.5% increase. Additionally, travel times along this route have also been reduced by between 10 and 15 minutes, the company added.
Beyond this extension, Rapid KL, together with Selangor JKR, the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), and the Ministry of Transport (MoT), will carry out an evaluation on this route over a period of three months, covering aspects including travel times, speeds of commercial buses, road safety, and traffic congestion on these routes.

In separate news, Rapid KL has also expanded its Rapid KL On-Demand van services to serve six new zones, including KTM Rawang, Setia Alam, Sg Way, and Batu Caves, with all services commencing from this week onwards.
