The Bovensiepen Zagato Is A Stunning Coach-Built BMW M4 With 603 HP!

For those not familiar with the Bovensiepen name, don’t sweat it – it’s one of those “if you know, you know…” type deals. Nevertheless, for the uninitiated, just know that it is the name of the German family that founded and ran legendary BMW tuning house Alpina.
Recently, the Bovensiepens sold their beloved Alpina brand and business to BMW Group back in 2022. Since then, the family has shifted its focus to become "a manufacturer of outstanding automobiles that embody the ambition of fine driving".
In other words, the folks that used to own and run Alpina have switched to a new made-to-order, coach-building business. What remains, at least from what we can see in this first offering, is a continued preference for BMW machines.

Through this first creation under its new Bovensiepen banner, said namesake family has shifted focus towards a made-to-order, coach-building business.
The stunning GT coupe pictured was simply christened by Bovensiepen as the Zagato, which references the renowned design house rooted in Milan, Italy that the firm charged with styling this creation inside and out.
“It is a harmonious composition of individual design that features and bears the unmistakable signature of the traditional Milanese design studio,” touts Bonvensiepen about Zagato’s delivery. We can;t disagree.
The firm adds it takes over 250 hours to craft each build, hence its plans to keep production “strictly limited”, though no exact number was specified. Instead, the firm will reveal price and availability later this year before deliveries start in summer 2026.

Charged with styling this GT coupe inside and out is renowned Milan-rooted designers and coach-builders Zagato, and the result is simply stunning.
With each unit, Bovensiepen promises it can be made "as unique as its owner" through the extensive personalisation options available for the interior and exterior.
It's also extensively differentiated from the BMW coupe on which it underpins thanks to a totally bespoke treatment at the front and rear, with a reshaped bonnet included, revised side profile and a double-bubble roof that’s renowned as a Zagato trademark.

With this first offering, which is simply christened as the Zagato, Bovensiepen also promises customers a high degree of customisation options inside and out.

Mechanically, the BMW M4 Coupe base car’s 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl twin-turbo heart has been fettled to 603 HP and 700 NM. In turn, Bovensiepen promises 0-100 KM/H dashes despatched in just 3.3 secs whilst enroute towards a V-max exceeding 300 KM/H.
Adding some zing and perhaps raising the decibel levels for the powertrain too will be a lightweight, twin-exit titanium exhaust system made by Akrapovič. This, according to Bovensiepen, is also 40% lighter in weight versus the stock exhaust.
Enhanced drive dynamics, on the other hand, is also promised. This stems from the chassis’ adoption of bespoke Bilstien dampers that are also configurable in three driving modes – Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus – whilst riding on 20-inch forged wheels.
More details are expected later this year ahead of planned deliveries starting summer next year.

Yes, despite relinquishing their original tuning business, it seems the Bonvensiepens still know a thing or two about boosting power and performance from any BMW. Expect more details of this coach-built GT later this year.
Whilst here, it’s also worth highlighting that BMW Group has plans for the Alpina brand, and will reveal next steps for which next year. Ahead of which, the firm has already placed ex-Polestar designer Max Missoni in charge of styling its luxury models – Alpinas included.
