Xpeng Mona M03 Max Debuts in China – 580 km CLTC Range, Turing AI ADAS

The all-new Xpeng Mona M03 Max debuts in China, featuring up to 580 km CLTC range and no-LiDAR Turing AI ADAS suite.
Xpeng has just launched a new top-spec version of its affordable EV saloon, the Xpeng Mona M03 Max. Compared to its lower-specced siblings, the new Mona M03 Max gets an assortment of improvements, including the new Turing AI driving assistance system that relies on a vision-only sensor suite.

In terms of design, the Mona M03 Max boasts no significant exterior design changes over other Mona M03 models, featuring the same sleek four-door liftback saloon bodystyle. Befitting its top-spec label, the Mona M03 Max gets an extended panoramic glass roof that features a 99.9% UV-blocking layer, while its liftback tailgate is now powered.

More changes can be seen as we get inside the car, as the new Mona M03 Max features upgraded front seats that now offer three-way adjustable lumbar support, promising to improve posture and reduce fatigue during extended driving. Other tech amenities include the Tianji Smart Cockpit system featuring a 15.6-inch floating central infotainment screen with over-the-air (OTA) software updates, a full-width electric air vent system a la Xpeng G6, and many more.

On the mechanical side, the new Mona M03 Max underpins the same Xpeng Fuyao architecture as its standard twins, featuring a single, front-mounted (FWD) electric motor delivering 215 HP (160 kW) and 250 Nm. Juice is provided by a 62.2-kWh LFP battery pack that provides a CLTC range of up to 580 km.
In terms of charging, Xpeng claims the Mona M03 Max can be charged from 30-80% in 25 minutes, although no exact AC and DC figures were given to us, for now. Thanks to its low drag coefficient of only 0.194 Cd, the Mona M03 Max is one of the most aerodynamic production EV sedans out there.

As mentioned above, the new Mona M03 Max adopts Xpeng’s latest Turing AI driving assistance system that grants it several key ADAS functions. Unlike the system used in other Xpeng models, the Mona M03 Max does not use any LiDAR sensors, where it instead utilises seven high-definition cameras and two Nvidia Orin-X chips.

In native China, the all-new Xpeng Mona M03 Max is tagged at CNY 155,800 (RM92,905), thus making it about CNY 36,000 (RM21,467) more than the standard Mona M03 variants. With the current model recording about 15,000 units in monthly sales, Xpeng hopes the new Mona M03 Max variant will help the brand to achieve a target annual sales of over 200,000 units for the Mona series this year.
