The all-new Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is a limited-production, track-focused version of the Jesko hypercar.

Swedish boutique marque Koenigsegg has just unveiled its latest hypercar creation, and it is cordially known as the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear. This is essentially a limited-production, track-focused version of the Jesko, featuring more power, reduced weight, more aggressive aero parts, and yet still road-legal across all global markets.

Unlike the Jesko, who is named after the father of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg, the Sadair’s Spear is named after the racehorse that Jesko von Koenigsegg rode in his final race back in 1976.

The first and perhaps most important improvement given to the Sadair’s Spear is in its power, where it uses the same 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the Jesko, which now features a new calibration and improved cooling. As a result, its total system output climbs to 1,300 hp on regular unleaded petrol or up to 1,625 hp if you choose to fuel it with the E85 ethanol fuel. Similarly, power is still exclusively transmitted to the rear wheels (RWD) via Koenigsegg’s proprietary flywheel-free Light Speed Transmission (LST).

But more power sometimes is not enough, so Koenigsegg has also put the Sadair’s Spear on a diet regime, which sees it lose 35 kg over the Jesko, tipping the scale at only 1,385 kg. With its outrageous power output, this limited-edition hypercar has surpassed the 1:1 power-to-weight ratio of the Koenigsegg One:1.

As a result, the Sadair’s Spear is 1.1 seconds faster than the Jesko Attack around the Gotland Ring track in Sweden. Although no century sprint times were shared for now, Koenigsegg claims this track-focused special will hit the limiter at up to 360 km/h.

To complement both the power boost and lighter weight, Koenigsegg has also improved the chassis setup of the Sadair’s Spear. The suspension now features lighter springs and new in-house-developed Triplex dampers, while its stopping power has been beefed up with new multi-layer carbon-ceramic brakes with stronger materials for the pads.

Last but not least, the Sadair’s Spear also benefits from several aerodynamic upgrades, with the most prominent one being the new double-blade active rear wing. It combines with the redesigned underfloor strakes and wheel arch louvres to produce up to 1,765 kg of downforce, or 850 kg at 250 km/h speeds.

Other design changes include redesigned front canards, hood vents, and side intakes, a longer rear-end, and a new set of staggered Aircore carbon fibre wheels with a turbine-blade directional design, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. Not to forget, said wheels are shod in bespoke Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tyres, although buyers can opt for the stickier Pilot Cup 2 R track rubbers.

The track-focused treatment continues inside the Sadair’s Spear, as it gets full carbon fibre seats with optional six-point harness seatbelts, a redesigned central console deck, and less insulation to save weight. Despite its bare-boned nature, the cabin still comes with some modern creature comforts like the SmartCluster display, wireless charging, and bird's-eye parking assist.

As with any other limited-production hypercar, only 30 examples of the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear will be made, and no surprise, all of them are already spoken for at an undisclosed price. Company founder Christian von Koenigsegg says this new hypercar is “destined to set records” and further expressed that “achieving such track dominance in a fully road-legal vehicle is nothing short of remarkable.”
