Porsche 1H 2025 Sales Charged By Macan Electric
Porsche revealed its 1H 2025 sales figures and, though much of which were dismal, there were some upsides.

German sportscar marque Porsche released its sales figures from the first half (1H) of this year (2025). Unsurprisingly, it’s the marque’s all-electric second-generation Porsche Macan that leads things.
Of the 146,391 units in total shifted by the brand between Jan to June this year, the Macan SUV nameplate’s sales accounted for 45,137 units. Said figure marks a 15% year-on-year (YoY) increase too, touts the Stuttgart-rooted sportscar marque.
Porsche's 1H 2025 are being buoyed by - unsurprisingly - the all-electric second-gen Macan.

Moreover, Porsche says 57% of the Macan model's 1H 2025 sales were charged by the new-gen electric version mentioned, which saw 25,884 units delivered. The combustion (ICE)-powered version charted the remaining 43% or 19,253 units shifted.
“The fully electric Macan is making a significant contribution to our proportion of electrified cars,” said Matthias Becker, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG.

Unsurprisingly too is the fact that demand for an ICE-powered Macan successor has grown across Europe.

As a refresher, the ICE model mentioned saw European sales discontinued since middle of last year. This was prompted by a new cybersecurity laws that took effect since July 2024 – a ruling that the current and outgoing ICE-powered Macan model doesn’t meet.
Despite so, Porsche acknowledged there’s still demand for an ICE-powered Macan successor from most European markets. Porsche also says it is "evaluating an independent model line in the SUV segment with combustion and hybrid powertrains."
No word on when exactly this new SUV model, which will likely slot below the Cayenne, will debut. We’ll point out though that the firm does plan to phase out the current ICE-powered Macan model worldwide by 2026.

Sales of the signature 911 sports coupe also declined by 13% YoY with just 14,975 units delivered in 1H 2025.

Back to Porsche’s 1H 2025 sales, the firm also notes that sales of the Panamera four-door grand tourer saw a 13% YoY growth with 14,975 units delivered. Elsewhere, the firm’s other nameplates did see sales decline across the board.
Starting with the signature 911 model, 25,608 units were shifted between Jan to June this year, marking a 9% YoY reduction. Porsche cites strong final sales of the model’s pre-facelift predecessor and staggered introduction of the new variants.

Sales of other models, namely the Cayenne large SUVs (top two) and Taycan EV saloon (above) also shrunk by 23% and 6% YoY respectively.

The larger-sized Cayenne SUV, on the other hand, saw 1H 2025 deliveries totalling at 41,873 units – a sizeable 23% YoY reduction. For this, Porsche blames catch-up effects during the same period of the previous year.
Deliveries of the brand’s Taycan flagship EV saloon also saw a 6% YoY drop with 8,302 units delivered between Jan and June this year. As for the soon-to-be-axed 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, their combined 1H 2025 sales saw a 12& YoY drop with 10,496 units shifted.
Apart from North America, Porsche sales in Germany, across Europe and in China all decreased.

Moving to the bigger picture, North America continues to be Porsche’s lead overseas market as 1H 2025 sales here totalled at 43,577 units. In fact, this is the one of two market regions where the marque enjoyed growth in, albeit at just 10% YoY.
Sales in other market regions, including the marque’s German home market, continue to slide too. The biggest loss here stems from – unsurprisingly – China where the marque sustained a 28% YoY decrease with just 21,302 units delivered in the first half of this year.
“We expect the environment to remain challenging. This makes it all the more important that we work closely with our sales regions to carefully balance supply and demand in line with our ‘value over volume’ strategy,” said Porsche Board Member Becker.
