Updated 2026 Porsche Macan Electric Gains AirConsole In-Car Gaming
You can now play video games from the infotainment suite of the Porsche Macan Electric, thanks to this latest 2026 MY update.
Just over a year since its global debut, the Porsche Macan Electric has been updated for 2026, which mostly involved software-related upgrades and improvements. Besides the usual boring bits, perhaps the most fun is the integration of the AirConsole in-car gaming support.
Now accessible via the Porsche App Centre, you can now play video games from your Macan Electric’s infotainment suite with AirConsole. While users can only play the games on the central screen when the car is parked, they still can play the games on the optional front passenger screen when the vehicle is moving.
Besides multiple screen options, users can also play AirConsole games either by using their smartphones as a controller or even using their own Bluetooth gaming controllers for a better, more engaging experience. To avoid disturbing drivers and other occupants, players can also connect their Bluetooth headphones to the head unit.
As of now, AirConsole said Macan Electric owners can enjoy an assortment of “short-session, casual games optimised for the in-car environment” such as racing games, trivia, and even casual sport games, with among the most popular ones being UNO and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. More games can be expected to arrive, with gaming studios like Gameloft and Obscure Interactive already on board.
With this update, the Porsche Macan Electric joins the exclusive club of automakers with AirConsole support on their vehicles, with other brands including fellow German compatriots like Volkswagen and BMW, to name a few.
Apart from the in-car gaming support, the Macan Electric also gets several other software-related updates, such as the new Voice Pilot—an AI-powered onboard voice assistant that can now understand “complex, interrelated questions and recognises what a statement is referring to.”
That said, we think the most prominent upgrade is the new digital key support. With this, Macan Electric owners can now use their Apple or Android devices to unlock and start their vehicle without having to open up their phones or smartwatches. This is possible thanks to the use of NFC, Bluetooth, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) connectivity.
The digital key update also allows owners to easily ‘share’ keys with up to seven other users, and they can even determine if these users can simply access the vehicle or drive it.
Speaking of driving, the update also sees the Macan Electric gaining several automated driving features, including Transparent Hood view for the optional 3D Surround View system with Active Parking Support, as well as the new Trained Parking function. The latter enables owners to record individual parking routines, such as pulling into their driveway, and the vehicle can now automatically perform it time and time again after ‘learning’ the routine.
Another driving-related improvement for the Macan Electric is in its towing capacity. Specifically for the Macan 4, Macan 4S, and Macan Turbo variants, they can now tow up to 2,500 kg of loads, which is 500 kg more than the previous figure.
As of now, these updates are only available for the US-spec 2026 Porsche Macan Electric, although we can expect some of them to arrive in other markets later in the future.
