Next-Gen Chery Tiggo 8 Images Unveiled in China Ahead of Q4 2025 Debut

First official images of the all-new, second-gen Chery Tiggo 8 have surfaced in China ahead of its Q4 2025 debut.
Following several facelifts for different markets and a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant, the Chery Tiggo 8 is finally getting a next-gen redux, as the official images of the second-gen model have surfaced in China. For its second-gen iteration, this midsize SUV appears to be larger than the ongoing model, while featuring two distinct front fascia styles, and it is scheduled to make its official Chinese debut later in Q4 this year.

The first front design of the new Tiggo 8 looks similar to what we saw on the Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH.
We’ll start with the first front design, where its face looks quite similar to what we saw on the Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH. It features a cleaner and more modern interpretation of the current Tiggo 8’s polygonal front grille with diamond-pattern inserts, while being flanked by new LED headlights with distinct dual L-shaped DRLs, like the BMW i4 facelift.

Next-gen Chery Tiggo 8 second front design
As for the second design, the new Tiggo 8 looks painstakingly similar to the new Lepas L8, where it gets the same dual-stack LED headlight design with sharp matrix LED DRLs on top, plus the same polygonal front grille with crosshatch inserts.

Regardless of the front face design, the new Tiggo 8 gets the same side profile design, featuring rounded shoulder lines with sculpted door panels, semi-flushed door handles, and new multi-spoke alloy rims. Also noticeable is that the front quarter panel doesn’t come with the Land Rover-inspired garnishes anymore, giving the SUV a cleaner, sleeker look than its predecessor.

Moving further back, the new Tiggo 8 further differentiates itself from the ongoing model, as it adopts a new, through-type slim LED taillight bar that is heavily inspired by the Porsche Cayenne. Rounding off the exterior design are the prominent rear bumper accents with two tailpipes, a cleaner tailgate design with Chery lettering instead of the standard logo, and many more.
Dimension-wise, Chery says the new Tiggo 8 spans 4,749 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,710 mm tall with a 2,825 mm wheelbase, thus making it 27 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 35 mm shorter in height compared to the ongoing model. More importantly, the wheelbase has dramatically grown from 2,710 mm to 2,825 mm.

While Chery has yet to reveal the interior part of the new Tiggo 8, we’ve been told by CarNewsChina that the new model will feature a two-row, five-seater version on top of the standard three-row, seven-seater layout. Given its larger size and longer wheelbase, we can expect the new Tiggo 8 cabin to be more spacious and brimming with more amenities compared to the current model.
The same goes for the powertrain, where the Wuhu-based automaker remains tight-lipped about the engine lineup. That said, the current model is offered in both full combustion (ICE) and semi-electrified PHEV powertrain options, but we believe the new model will get a peppier powertrain lineup.

As mentioned earlier, the all-new, second-gen Chery Tiggo 8 is slated to make its debut later in Q4 this year. With the new Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH set to debut locally soon, could this next-gen midsize SUV make its way into our market as early as next year?
