JMS 2025: Honda Super-One Prototype EV Kei Car Revealed, Sale In Asia Touted
More news from the opening press day of the Japan Mobility Show 2025 (JMS 2025) taking place in Tokyo, Japan this week, this time from the mighty H-marque. Though petite in sheer size, the mass appeal of the new Honda Super-One Prototype concept is larger than life.
This is essentially a near-production version of the Honda Super EV Concept showcased earlier this year during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Said concept was also shown in at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Autoshow 2025 (GIIAS 2025), which perhaps stood as a big early hint too.

Honda touts that this new concept underpins the marque’s latest N-One e: Kei-class EV supermini. Critically, reading between the lines of its heavily-worded press releases issued online, the automaker is poised to offer the final production version of the Super-One Prototype not just in Japan, but across “Asia and Oceania” too.
Honda kept mum about what powers the Super-One Prototype underneath its sporty, stylish and very squared exterior. Instead, the H-marque promises “sporty and nimble” drive dynamics, which are arguably hinted through the bulging fender flares it rocks at each corner that also widens its stance.

Bulging fender flares, two-tone colourway, aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as vents for both aero and cooling plus all-round disc brakes sees this Kei EV promise "sporty and nimble" drive dynamics.
Critically, the Honda Super-One Prototype EV will see its final production version offer simulated gear shifts matched with artificial engine and transmission sounds to match.

Boosting which – literally and figuratively – is a ‘Boost Mode’ function which, besides unlocking maximum performance, also simulates gear shifts. Taking a page out of the ‘other’ (read:Korean) H-marque’s book, namely from its Ioniq 5 N chapter, said virtual gear shifts are matched with artificial engine and transmission sounds too.
“This enables the driver to enjoy the feeling as if driving an engine-powered sporty vehicle, while offering the advantage of EV,” claims Honda further. Other notably touches include a two-tone colour scheme, aggressive front and rear bumpers, vents in the latter for both aero and cooling, as well as all-round disc brakes - untypical of Kei cars.
For reference, the Honda N-One e: mentioned is reportedly brimmed with a 29.6 kWh battery pack that juices a front-mounted e-motor outputting 64 PS and 162 Nm to its front wheels (FWD). The automaker also claims a maximum WLTP-rated 270 KM range for this all-electric spin-off of its N-One, and that it accepts both 6 kW AC and 50 KW DC charging inputs.

On board, it's the familiar Honda clutter-free cabin design with the typical Kei car tall and boxy cabin layout that prioritises practicality.

Inside, the Super-One Prototype EV features a tall and boxy cabin that prioritises practicality. There are a pair of sports seats wrapped in asymmetrical contrasting blue stripe motif. As for the dash, it’s Honda’s typical clutter-free design we’re all familiar with, and there’s a horizontal floating infotainment touchscreen primed.
Expect more details to surface as the Super-One Prototype EV nears its production phase. Japanese market sales are set to commence first next year (2026) before it is rolled out to other overseas markets in “Asia and Oceania” mentioned, as well as the UK.
