Original Honda NSX Reimagined by Pininfarina & JAS Motorsport

Pininfarina has worked with Italy’s JAS Motorsport to reimagine the original Honda NSX NA1 for the modern era.
More than three decades since it debuted, it appears that the first-gen (NA1) Honda NSX is getting yet another modern-era redux, this time around from two Italian automotive entities, the famous Pininfarina design studio and Honda’s long-time motorsport partner, JAS Motorsport.
From the limited teaser images published, we can see that both Pininfarina and JAS’ modern interpretation of the NSX does not veer far off the original NA1 model, although it does fix some of the more dated design aspects to better suit the current age.

For starters, the original NSX’s pop-up headlights are still retained for this remake, although they are now accompanied by sleeker LED DRLs. The same goes for the rear end, where the new version still gets the same hoop rear spoiler as before, while the taillight has been replaced with slim LED bars with the JAS logo placed at the centre.
Upon closer inspection, more changes can be seen on this modern NSX, including wider and more muscular fenders with large intake vents at the rear, a vented front hood, as well as a new set of wheels with a dual five-spoke design and massive red brake callipers hiding beneath them.
While Pininfarina didn’t publish any official images of its interior, we can expect the reimagined NSX to hide a similar cabin setup seen on the original model beneath its carbon fibre bodywork. That said, given how modern the exterior design looks, there’s also a chance that it will adopt an equally modern cabin setup, filled with creature comforts and amenities.

The original NA1 Honda NSX is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 nat-asp engine producing around 270 hp, the automaker claims.
That said, the Italian design house did confirm that this NSX redux will be powered by a tuned version of Honda’s original 3.0-litre V6 engine, and we suspect it will get a much higher output compared to the 270 hp claimed output on the original model.
More good news for enthusiasts around the world, as this modern-looking NSX will come with a six-speed manual transmission and be available in both right- (RHD) and left-hand drive (LHD) configurations.

Before you get too excited, neither Pininfarina nor JAS Motorsport has announced how many examples of this modern NSX will be built or how much they will even cost. That said, we’re certain that Honda enthusiasts will find the means to get one, although they might have to wait until the first half of 2026 to do so.
