The closures are aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow, crowd management, and the safety of thousands expected to visit the festive bazaar.

“The affected roads include Jalan Bonus 6 (Jalan Masjid India), Jalan Rakyat (Brickfields), Jalan Tun Sambanthan (in front of Sentral Suites and Little India, Brickfields), as well as Lorong Chan Ah Tong.

“These closures will facilitate the management and smooth running of the Deepavali Bazaar 2025, while creating a lively and safe festive atmosphere for visitors and traders,” DBKL said in a statement.

City Hall also urged road users to plan their journeys ahead, consider alternative routes, or make use of public transport to avoid congestion in these busy areas.

The Deepavali Bazaar, held annually in the run-up to the Festival of Lights, is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most vibrant cultural highlights.

With the event running for three weeks, the closures are expected to ease pedestrian movement and support traders in operating safely without disrupting the surrounding traffic too heavily.

DBKL assured that traffic wardens will be deployed at key junctions to assist motorists and minimize inconvenience.
