BYD Atto 3 Set For Another Update With Increased 650 KM Range

According to leaked Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filings that have made rounds on the Chinese internet, it seems the ever-popular BYD Atto 3 EV SUV is set to receive another round of updates.
Based on reports by Chinese sources, the refreshed 2026 model year version looks critically set to receive a larger new 74.88 kWh iteration of the Chinese NEV-making giant’s proprietary ‘Blade’ LFP battery pack.
In turn, this is set to yield an even longer CLTC-rated maximum range of 650 KM for the Atto 3 – marketed at the Yuan Plus in its Chinese home market. Of course, that’s not all.
One of the images leaked from the MIIT filings mentioned. Look closely and note some of the minor changes like the repositioned charging port.

Bigger battery and subsequently increased range aside, the 2026MY BYD Atto 3 is also set to see its e-motor benefit with enhanced outputs. Previously, we’ve noted that Chinese sources report headlining figures of up to 312 PS and 360 Nm.
If the latter figures sounds familiar, then you’re not wrong – the 2026MY BYD Atto 3 looks set to adopt and share the same e-motor unit from the BYD Seal Premium EV saloon, according to these latest leaked MIIT documents at least.
For reference, the BYD Atto 3 is currently brimmed with either a 49.92 kWh or 60.48 kWh Blade battery pack yielding up to 430 KM or 510 KM of CLTC-ranged range respectively. As for outputs, it currently offers just 204 PS and 310 Nm too.

Other minor cosmetic changes to note include a new wheels design. Otherwise, the most critical changes have occured underneath, namely the peppier e-motor and larger battery.

Though not confirmed through said leaked filings, Chinese sources online further speculate that the 2026MY BYD Atto 3 could even gain an upgraded 800-volt architecture underneath. The up-sized battery and increased e-motor outputs detailed suggests which too.
Should that pan out as truth, it could allow this EV C-SUV to finally gain faster charging speeds, perhaps accommodating up to 150 kW DC charging speeds – this is effectively the only front where the BYD Atto 3 – in its current form – lags against key competitors.
No interior images were made available this time around, though no major interior design changes are expected for the 2026MY BYD Atto 3.

Beyond which, the MIIT filings do show a slew of minor exterior design tweaks coming, and it includes new alloy wheels design too. Another key change noted here is the repositioned charging port from the right front fender to the opposite side instead.
As a refresher, the BYD Atto 3 already underwent a minor facelift in China earlier this year where it received small cosmetic tweaks inside and out. Much of this was meant to have it mirror the new and smaller Atto 2 model.
