Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLB Interior Shown, Full Debut Set For Dec
Here's your first look at the upcoming second-gen GLB crossover's revamped interior featuring the optional MBUX Superscreen setup.

The upcoming second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLB crossover SUV is slated for debut early next month (Dec). Ahead of which, the three-point star marque elected to tease the model’s new interior online, as well as showing the SUV in full, albeit veiled by a layer of frost from winter tests.
Obviously, it’s the new interior that piques our interest. Similar as what we saw in the third-gen CLA fastback, this lifted compact luxury three-row crossover SUV twin is set to feature the marque’s trick MBUX Superscreen setup featuring three massive digital displays primed in its dash.
Set to be an option, the MBUX Super screen merges a 10.259nch digital instrument panel with a pair of massive 14-inch touchscreen infotainment displays.

This triple-screen setup will be an option though – expect lower-end variants to ditch the massive passenger-side third screen. Like what we saw in the CLA, this setup is poised to merge a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel with dual 14-inch infotainment touchscreen displays.
Said displays will be powered off the latest Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MBOS) that brings the MBUX Virtual Assistant with avatars, built-in Google Maps navigation, not forgetting a slew of Artificial Intelligence (AI) functions – this will be the ‘smartest’ GLB yet.

Redesigned second- and third-row seats bring enhanced comforts, with the latter boasting the added ability to be folded away flat into the floor too.

Besides tech, the teaser images also shows the new GLB gaining circular air vents in its floating centre console. The latter also houses large cup holders plus a wireless smartphone charging pad. Joining it is a new steering wheel design, whilst the choice between 5- and 7-seat layouts remain.
From the initial teaser photos, it appears that the new GLB is set to offer a larger and more spacious cabin versus the outgoing model with noticeably more headroom. Second row passengers are poised to basked in increased legroom too, as well as enhanced seat comfort.
The latter stems from what appears to be newly redesigned second row seats that brings added thigh support with an adjustable backrest. Third-row seats have also been similarly improved, and they can now be folded flat into the floor to offer increased luggage space in the boot.
There will be the option for a panoramic glass roof plus an upgraded version with the electronic clear-to-opaque transition, or an illuminated roof feature rocking a "starry sky" motif.

One interesting new novelty here is the panoramic glass roof. It can be optionally upgraded with a version that transitions from clear to opaque in milliseconds. Customers will also have to option to swap to an illuminated roof feature that instead rocks a “starry sky” motif.
Elsewhere, Mercedes-Benz have also endowed the new second-gen GLB with heat-insulating laminated safety glass bolstered with an added infrared-reflecting coating. This, according to the marque, keeps the interior cool in the summer whilst minimising heat loss during winter.
The second-gen GLB will also come with a slew of ADAS functions powered by a liquid-cooled high-performance computer that's also future-proofed.

Naturally, a barrage of advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) features will be primed, all powered using 8 cameras, 5 radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors. All are tied to a high-performance computer that’s water-cooled – similar to high-end gaming PCs.
Said powerful computing ‘brain’ is also future-proofed in a sense whereby it packs sufficient power reserves for future functions coming via regular over-the-air (OTA) software updates, adds the German marque.
Another teaser image showing the new second-gen GLB in full veiled by a layer of frost as it undergoes a series of extreme cold climate tests.

Lastly, the new GLB is also expected to mirror the latest CLA with its powertrain choices. Both single- and dual-motor electric (EV) variants will be readied alongside a mild-hybrid combustion (ICE) choice, the latter built around a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill.
Expect more details as the second-gen GLB bows early next month on Dec 8.
