Honda Introduces New Heritage Works Restoration Programme

Honda has introduced its Heritage Works restoration programme to revive its classic sportscars, starting with the NSX
Besides Toyota, Honda is also serious about reviving some of its classic models, as the automaker recently announced the introduction of its own restoration programme, known as the Honda Heritage Works. This programme aims to give Honda’s classic performance models a second life in the form of reproduced parts and a full restoration service, and we can’t think of a better model to kick-start this initiative than the original Honda NSX.
Set to be officially launched in 2026, the Heritage Works programme is split into two main branches, with the first one being the Honda Heritage Parts. As its name suggests, this branch will see Honda reproducing and remanufacturing some of the discontinued parts and components for the first-gen NSX.

These include “genuine compatible parts,” which will be recreated using modern materials and techniques for better performance, as well as “genuine reprint parts,” which is an attempt to faithfully duplicate the original components using the same old process and materials.
Ahead of its official launch, Honda has set up an official Honda Heritage Works website showcasing all the reproduced parts available for the NSX, and customers can get them as early as April 2026.

The second branch of this restoration programme is far more ambitious than the first one, where it will see Honda following in the footsteps of Porsche Classic by offering a full restoration service for its classic performance models, again, starting with the NSX.
Honda says this new full restoration service will lean heavily on Heritage Parts to restore the NSX’s original performance, refinement, and factory-fresh feel, with restoration works set to take place at the automaker’s Takanezawa facility in Tochigi Prefecture—the same plant where the original NSX was born.

There will be two service tiers available for customers to choose from, with the entry-level Basic Restoration addressing core components such as the engine, suspension, and other performance-related components and systems. Meanwhile, the more inclusive Total Restoration service will see the NSX getting a more extensive overhaul, with additional focus on the vehicle’s exterior and interior, as well as its mechanical condition.

Applications for this full restoration service on the first-gen NSX (NA1-100) will be opened later in January 2026 via selected Honda dealers in Japan, meaning that overseas owners looking to try out this service need to ship their NSXs abroad. Pricing and detailed procedures will be announced on the Heritage Works website later in January next year, whereas the actual restoration works will commence later in April.
As mentioned above, the new Honda Heritage Works programme will cover the original NSX for now, with Honda yet to name any future models eligible for this programme, but we’d reckon iconic models like the Integra, Civic Type R, and the S200 might make the final list in the future.
