Launched: 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV – 3 Variants, From RM105,800*
The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has officially launched earlier today, becoming the most affordable PHEV SUV in segment too.

The wait is over for prospecting buyers eyeing up the 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV. Earlier today, the national automaker officially launched the model, and the prices it announced sees it stand as the most affordable plug-in hybrid (PHEV) C-SUV on sale in Malaysia now.
Straight into it then. As reported prior, the e.MAS 7 PHEV has three variants or grades on offer – a base Prime, followed by a mid-spec Premium, whilst a fully-loaded Premium Plus (Premium +) guise caps things off. Things start from RM109,800 for the Prime, RM123,800 for the Premium, and RM129,800 for the Premium Plus.
Of course, that’s not all – here come the rebates. For the first 5,000 bookings, the automaker will reward said early adopters with a RM4,000 rebate. In turn, this lowers the starting prices down to RM105,800 for the Prime, RM119,800 for the Premium, and RM125,800 for the Premium Plus range-topper.

Like the e.MAS 7 EV, Proton is offering a special launch rebate. This sees the first 5,000 bookings benefit with an RM4,000 price reduction. Besides that comes a slew of specially tailored perks too.

Aptly, said figures arguably justify P1’s claims of having the most affordable PHEV SUV offering in class right now. Sweetening the deal is the inclusion of a 5-year, unlimited mileage base vehicle warranty, followed by a separate 8-year or 160,000 KM coverage for the high-voltage battery and components.
The good news doesn’t stop there too. Besides the Early Bird bookings promotion it offered prior, Proton will also throw in a complimentary 7 kW wallbox charger worth RM1,500, 5-year free data plan (capped at 2GB monthly) worth RM1,000, as well as the eMAS Care insurance package valued at RM1,000.
Critically, Proton also confirmed that the e.MAS 7 PHEV is eligible for the government’s matching grant scheme worth up to RM4,000 should you have an older car to dispose of – terms and conditions apply. Altogether, Proton notes that these incentives tailored for the e.MAS 7 PHEV specifically are worth RM7,500 in all.
Initially, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV will arrive as China-built fully imported (CBU) units. However, the automaker has committed to fully localising (CKD) the model in under 10 months time.

For this initial stage, the e.MAS 7 PHEV will arrive as China-made fully imported (CBU) units. However, Proton has committed towards fully localising (CKD) the e.MAS 7 PHEV model in under 10 months – quicker than the all-electric (EV) e.MAS 7 model, likely enabled by the fact that the automaker has a dedicated EV assembly plant at its Tanjong Malim hub.
We’ve detailed all three variants at length prior, but it’s worth refreshing you on the basics. All three share the same setup that pairs a 1.5-litre 4-cyl petrol Dedicated Hybrid Engine (DHE), e-motor and battery setup, plus an 11-in-1 Dedicated Hybrid Transmisison (DHT).
Altogether, Proton touts a combined output of 193 kW (259 PS) and 262 Nm to drive the front wheels, in turn enabling 0-100 km/h dashes in 8 secs (Prime and Premium) and 8.2 secs (Premium+) whilst enroute towards a capped V-max of 170 km/h.

Visually, the e.MAS 7 PHEV is identical to its EV twin, though it does have a distinctively different front fascia. Otherwise, it shares much of the same kit and features on board.

There are two LFP battery sizes available – 18.4 kWh in the Prime and Premium, followed by a larger 29.8 kWh pack in the Premium Plus. The former yields up to 105 KM of electric-only range, up to 1,000 KM of combined petrol-electric range, and sip as low as 4.3 litres/100 KM – all rated using NEDC standards.
Naturally, the larger capacity pack yields slightly longer electric-only range of up to 170 KM. It also brings a combined petrol-electric range of up to 1,065 KM, though the slightly heavier kerb weight this range-topping variant stand slightly thirstier with its claimed fuel economy rating of 4.4 litres/100 KM.

Combined, there's 259 PS and 262 Nm available, but its the ability to cover up to 170 KM using just electric power, combined petrol-electric range of up to 1,065 KM and average fuel economy as low as 4.3 litres/100 KM being the real headlines here.

In terms of charging speeds, 6.6 kW AC charging as standard across the board. Both the Prime and Premium also accepts up to 30 kW of DC fast-charging inputs, allowing for 30-80% re-charges in under 20 minutes. The Premium Plus doubles that to 60 KW, thus allowing 30-80% re-charges in under 16 minutes instead.
You can get to grips with all three variants via the full specifications readout provided below:
