Audi has recently facelifted the fourth-gen A3 model for the 2025 model year update.
Almost four years after making its debut, German marque Audi has finally granted the fourth-generation A3 a much-needed midlife update. For the 2025 model year (2025 MY), this compact luxury model now comes with a mildly tweaked design plus a barrage of new equipment inside and out.

Aside from the optional LED matrix headlights unit, the facelifted A3 also comes with a new Singleframe front grille design.
Focusing on the A3 sedan for now, this facelifted compact saloon comes with a redesigned front face, courtesy of the new Singleframe hexagonal grille design that is joined by bigger air intakes and the new Audi Four Rings emblem. Said front grille is flanked by a pair of LED headlights that can be optionally upgraded to a fancier LED matrix unit, which features four customisable DRL signatures.

While the side profile remains the same as before, the facelifted A3 sedan gets a reworked rear bumper with its design inspired by the sporty RS3 sedan, featuring black accents and mesh inserts at the lower part. Elsewhere, the LED taillights also come with new lighting signatures to match the updated front unit.

Compared to the exterior, the facelift treatment is quite mild inside the new A3's cabin.
On board, the A3 sedan facelift gets a familiar dual display layout comprising a 10.1-inch infotainment unit and a larger 12.3-inch metre cluster, both carried over from the pre-facelifted model. Some notable changes present here include the simplistic, button-style gear shifter on its raised central console, new fabric inserts with lightning elements at the door panels, and a new 30-colour ambient lighting system.
For markets like Europe, the facelifted A3 sedan is offered with a plethora of subscription-based options, which can unlock certain functions for the car. Although this won’t likely be available for other international markets like Malaysia, buyers in Europe need to fork out extra dough for ‘basic’ functions like both the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, the built-in MMI navigation system, several ADAS functions, and many more.

For the European market, the facelifted A3 comes in a 1.5-litre mild hybrid powertrain form.
On the powertrain front, the facelifted A3 sedan will be offered with a 1.5-litre 4-cyl mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrain setup for the baseline variant. Rated at 148 HP, this MHEV powertrain setup is still offered with a six-speed manual gearbox in selected markets, aside from the standard seven-speed automatic unit.
Besides the baseline MHEV powertrain, the facelifted A3 will also come in both TDI diesel and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, the latter set to arrive in Europe later this year.

Besides the standard A3 sedan and Sportback, the facelifted A3 also comes in a new Allstreet version (right).
Apart from the standard sedan and Sportback hatch body styles, the facelifted A3 is also available in the new A3 Allstreet version. Specially offered for the European market, the new A3 Allstreet is essentially a jacked-up version of the A3 Sportback, featuring a taller ride height courtesy of its lifted suspension setup and some crossover-esque cosmetic bits. Paired with a set of larger wheels, the A3 Allstreet boasts an extra 30 MM of ground clearance over the standard A3 Sportback five-door hatch.

The facelifted fourth-gen Audi A3 is now on sale in selected European markets, with prices beginning from €35,650 (RM182,474) for the Sportback version and €36,450 (RM186,556) for the sedan, while the new A3 Allstreet is tagged the highest at €37,450 (RM191,675).

PHSAM currently offers both the pre-facelifted A3 and RS3 in sedan body form, both fully-imported from Audi Ingolstadt plant in Germany.
Closer to home, PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) currently offers the pre-facelift, fourth-gen A3 in a sole sedan body form for both the standard A3 and the manic RS3 versions. Both fully imported (CBU) from Audi’s Ingolstadt plant, the former model currently retails at RM340,162, while the souped-up RS3 commands a higher price tag of RM673,650.
As of writing, PHSAM has yet to mention any plans to bring the facelifted A3 into our market. Considering that the rivalling Mercedes-Benz A-Class recently got a facelift treatment some time last year, perhaps it is timely for Audi Malaysia to introduce the updated A3 model in our market sooner or later.
