Proton New Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) has announced a significant expansion of its nationwide EV charging network to meet the growing number of electric vehicles in Malaysia. This program is consistent with the company's aim of encouraging EV adoption and ensuring seamless travel for EV owners by offering quick and reliable charging solutions across the country.
Since introducing the Proton HQ DC Charging facility last October, PRO-NET has taken aggressive steps to expand the charging infrastructure throughout its Proton Edar Dealerships. Working with Gentari, the outfit has successfully deployed 6 dual-nozzle DCFCs to serve a total of 12 EV charging bays (EVCBs). The deployed DCFC units range from 50 kW to 120 kW units, with the majority being 60 kW.

This DCFC network further complements the existing charging facilities at smart dealership networks, which include 5 DC chargers and 13 AC chargers, serving a total of 22 EVCBs.
Beyond the Peninsula Malaysia region, PRO-NET also intends to expand its charging network to East Malaysia by adding new charging infrastructure as part of its dealership expansion in Sabah.

Furthermore, the smart brand was the first to introduce an integrated charging map that seamlessly integrates vehicle usage with users' lifestyle, in order to address range anxiety. Meanwhile its Hello smart App provides real-time updates on charging points, including availability status, ensuring a hassle-free charging experience for users.
Currently, over 70% of public charging points are incorporated into the Hello smart App, which is available through partnership chargEV, JomCharge, and Gentari.

Best of all, the EV Charging Stations are open to the public regardless of your vehicles, with exception to the Hap Seng dealership which is now only limited to smart and Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
