2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4: Compact Sedan Continues Local Production in Philippines
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) revealed the 2022 Mirage G4, its compact sedan which will be locally produced in the Philippines.
Inspired by the Mirage compact hatchback, the G4 is a 5-seater powered by a 1.2-litre engine. Debuted in 2013, the vehicle features a sharp exterior thanks to the Mitsubishi Motors’ Dynamic Shield front while the interior features an all-new 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system.
"While we maintain the key practical features that make Mirage G4 a real life partner for customers, we added a bolder and aggressive look that will project a more confident stance," said MMC president Takao Kato.
As of July 2021, the Mirage G4 has accumulated over 370,000 units sold, with more than 92,000 units being locally produced and imported models sold in the Philippines. The G4 was also the first vehicle to go into production under the Philippine government’s Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) Program, which was produced by MMC’s sales and manufacturing subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC).
"Further, Mirage G4 has generated local job opportunities through MMPC's plant in Santa Rosa and auto parts suppliers. By introducing the refreshed model, Mitsubishi Motors will enhance our local production, thus committing to the Philippine market." added Kato.
