The first Jaguar C-type Continuation build has been completed, undergone its shakedown test, and is ready to leave the home of Jaguar Classic Works ahead of customer delivery.

Bringing Jaguar’s heritage to life via advanced CAD modelling, each one is handcrafted using the same build methods to ensure the limited-run Continuations honor the original C-type.

These masterpieces endure at least 250 miles (402 km) of physical testing by Jaguar Classic engineers, following a build process that requires 3,000 hours.

Jaguar Classic’s head of engineering, David Foster, said, “We’ve combined original drawings, modern CAD techniques and 3,000 hours of skill and attention to produce our first hand-built C-type, noting a historic landmark moment for Jaguar Classic.”

For this first customer Continuation, it has been finished in Pastel Green with Suede Green leather seats and, of course, inspired by the original Jaguar C-type.

Notably, the one that won the 29 June 1952 Reims Grand Prix Meeting, which is also the first C-type fitted with disc brakes to win in international competition.

“Our exclusive Continuation C-types feature the technical innovations and specifications of the ultimate 1953 Le Mans-winning car, including the innovative Dunlop disc brake setup that was victorious in Reims in 1952,” Foster added.

Additionally, 12 other exterior heritage colors are also offered, e.g., British Racing Green and Pastel Blue with contrasting roundel, along with distinct interior layouts from a range of eight leather hues.

Last but not least, these Continuation models are FIA-approved and eligible to participate in all FIA racing events, including the Jaguar Classic Challenge.

That said, the limited run C-type Continuations are available now, and can be configured using Jaguar Classic’s 3D visualizer at classicvisualiser.jaguar.com.
