OMODA 5 Debuted in China, Offering 1.6 TGDI+7DCT Or 1.5 TCI+9CVT Engine!

Chery announces its new OMODA 5 debuted in China and confirmed for a placement in Malaysia and Australia. 

The OMODA 5 trendy SUV is offering seven variants and as an opt there’s 1.6 TGDI+7DCT or 1.5 TCI+9CVT powertrains churning out 194hp and 290Nm of torque enables a zero to 100km/h within 7.8 seconds. 


Apart from that, the new energy version is equipped with Chery’s own Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), which features dual motors, nine operating modes, 11 gear combinations and twin-shaft drive, making it the first of its kind amongst Chinese brands.


There are four selectable driving modes – Eco, Normal, Sport and Super Sport. 

The cabin meanwhile is covered with futuristic theme and spotted Chery’s ‘Lion 5.0 AI technology smart cockpit’ surrounds occupants with cutting-edge technology and contrasting colours.


OMODA 5 is integrated with a 24.6-inch widescreen that previews driving input along a Sony audio system collaborates with 64-colour rhythmic ambient lighting. 


On the outside, the bodyshells is adorned with Chery’s new ‘Art in Motion’ design philosophy creating OMODA 5’s curves and lines play with light and shadows to achieve both static and dynamic style. 


In keeping with the revolutionary theme, Chery’s ‘Lion 5.0 AI technology smart cockpit’ incorporated with Chery’s ‘C-Pure’ cabin as the material is stitched along European-standard environmental protection technology that flows a negative-ion air purification and filtration system
