An Epic Cavalcade Of Bugattis, The Supercar Owners Circle In Croatia
Jetting through the country’s stunning roads in an epic cavalcade, the yearly Supercar Owners Circle (SOC) in Croatia witnessed Bugatti as one of its attendees again.
Beautiful, luxurious and fast, during the SOC from 2 to 5 September, a swarm of Buggatis in every example from the brand’s modern repertoire toured for more than 1,000 km.
Paraded was the first Centodieci, a Divo, a Chiron Super Sport 300+, Chiron Super Sport, Chiron L’Ébe, Chiron Pur Sport, Chiron Sport, four Chirons, and a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition.
That’s not all, among the many legendary Bugattis, one example in particular outclassed the rest, the one-of-one, La Voiture Noire.
A one-off piece of automotive haute couture, it is the ultimate illustration of Bugatti’s mastery of engineering and design at the very highest levels.
It pays tribute to the famous lost Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic known as ‘La Voiture Noire’, and this extraordinary reincarnation features an entirely bespoke design.
Each and every cell of the 3D-printed front grille has been honed to perfection, and there are more than 25 individually milled light elements per side in the headlights.
Meanwhile, the rear is dominated by an elegant tail light, which for the first time features a single-piece surround with no joints.
Then, six individual tailpipes serve as a nod to its predecessor, along with a newly developed parametric design at the front and rear, sealing all the body parts.
Despite being a one-off, La Voiture Noire was subject to the same durability and safety tests as every other Bugatti.
This ensured it could be enjoyed by its current owner in all conditions and at the peak of its performance, as it was driven during the four-day SOC tour.
Speaking of which, each of these Bugatti masterpieces began the event with a drive into the beautiful mountainous region of Sljeme for a hillclimb.
Expertly, they drove along the twisting roads that are the natural habitat for the Divo and Chiron Pur Sport, both specially designed with a focus on additional downforce and agility.
After that, the swarm headed for Zagreb city centre for a public display of the examples, located just in front of Zagreb Cathedral.
There, the precious gold highlights of the Chiron L’Ébe and the unique coachbuilt design of Centodieci were admired, of which the latter developed in homage to the legendary Bugatti EB110.
Next, on the morning of 3 September, the cavalcade made its way to the Velika Gorica ZTC, for another public display on the airport's closed runway.
Outstandingly witnessed there was the full fury of Bugatti’s 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged engine, unleashed via the Chiron Super Sport 300+ and Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition.
In the afternoon of the same day, the tour set off for the beautiful Adriatic coastal town of Sibenik, a journey of almost 400 km, for the remainder of the weekend.
Closing an epic adventure, they headed to the island of Pag and back to the mainland, joining the Magistrala road to return to Sibenik.
Bugatti Rimac’s chief executive officer, Mate Rimac concluded, “It’s a real honour for me to welcome the Supercar Owners Circle back to the country that I call home for the second year in a row. Our customers have shown just how truly passionate they are about the Bugatti brand, choosing to share their extraordinarily rare and special cars with the enthusiastic Croatian public. It is very much in the spirit of Ettore Bugatti that every car that leaves our atelier, even those that are totally unique, can still be driven and enjoyed, able to travel 1,000 km in comfort, tackle twisting mountain roads or hit record speeds on a closed runway.”
