- Apple Spatial Audio Take on Mercedes-Benz Models
For music junkies, here’s some great news for you. Recently, premium car makers Mercedes-Benz and Apple teamed up and brought Apple Music’s Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos support made exclusive for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Spatial Audio is available on supported content when accessed via an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV, but it has never been available in a car until now.
The limited edition Mercedes-Maybach by Virgil Abloh, which was released to the public last month recognised as the first model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup to offer this superior, multidimensional soundscape powered by the Burmester high-end 4D sound system.
Drivers get to hear music in an entirely new way thanks to the new software via MBUX infotainment system's "Online Music" option to listen to their own libraries on Amazon or Apple Music, Spotify along with TIDAL.
Apple announced at this year's Paris Motor Show that it is now supported by selected Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including the latest Mercedes-Maybach, EQS, EQS SUV, EQE, and S-Class models where users get to blast their favourite tunes via the advanced music software.
More exciting than that, Mercedes-Benz drivers who already have an Apple Music subscription gain immediate access to an ever-growing catalogue of songs and albums available in Spatial Audio from some of the world's biggest artists across all genres, including hip-hop, country, Latin, pop, and classical.
Not just that, Apple Music also offers curated Spatial Audio playlists like Driving in Spatial Audio and Hip-Hop in Spatial Audio, where listeners can find and discover songs from their favourite artists.
Subscribers will also have access to Apple Music's entire catalogue of 100 million songs, thousands of editorially curated playlists, and daily selections from the world's best music experts, including all of the artists and hosts broadcasting across its Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, and Apple Music Country global live-stream radio stations.
Drivers that can take advantage of Spatial Audio must have either a Burmester 3D or 4D sound system which could cost approximately around RM20,000 ($4,550).
