- Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance F1 Edition revealed

The 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance welcomes its first special in the form of the F1 Edition pictured. Available in both sedan and estate forms, this special sees the new and now hybrid C63 performance model dressed in a more eye-catching appearance.
Making it exclusive is the fact that the three-point star’s performance arm has limited the availability to just the first year of the C63 S E Performance’s production.

Setting this special apart is the exterior treatment it received. In F1 Edition, the C63 S E Performance dons a Manufaktur Alpine Grey Uni paint that’s somewhat akin to concrete. It also sees vertical colour gradient from grey to black with AMG branding added in the lower part on the doors, followed by a red trim strip added on the body’s bottom edge.
Elsewhere, the F1 Edition also sports 20-inch forged wheels with V-shaped spokes, matte black finish and a red ring around the rim. Standard-equipped in this special is the AMG Aerodynamics Package that adds a larger front splitter, side sills, boot lid spoiler, and an additional diffuser board. Also standard here are the AMG Night Package I and II that adds blacked-out trims on the fenders, mirror caps, window surrounds, grille inserts and rear apron.

On board, the F1 Edition cabin gets AMG Performance seats wrapped in black Nappa leather with red stitching and embossed AMG emblems in the headrests. The steering wheel, on the other hand, is treated with a mix of both Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber. Other touches include red seatbelts, as well as the addition of the F1 logo in its floor mats.
Apart from the unique exterior and interior treatment, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance also comes with a car cover that has the F1 logo emblazoned on it. Said cover also sees its inner section primed with a flannel to protect the body from scratches.

Apart from these special aesthetic treatments, the F1 Edition is mechanically similar to the base C63 S E Performance. As reported prior from its initial launch, the three-point-star has dropped the previous model’s signature V8 mill and replaced with a new petrol-electric hybrid setup featuring a manic 2.0-litre 4-cyl derived from the current A45 S AMG super-hatch.
Despite losing cylinders and downsizing, the C63 S E Performance’s petrol-electric hybrid setup still boasts greater output figures over its V8 predecessor – combined systems output stands at 670 HP and 1,020 NM. Coupled with a slick 9-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and trick all-wheel-drive, the package sees 0-100 KM/H dispatched in just 3.4 seconds.
Back to the F1 Edition special and, for the moment, Mercedes-AMG is offering this special in the European market only. It’s availability in other non-EU markets remains uncertain for now.
