- The 400th Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Ready To Roll Out
Ensuing a build process of around two months, the 400th example of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport has been completed and ready to be delivered.
It is said that for each creation of the hyper sports car, no example will be the same, noting the myriad of personalization options offered.
In this case, for the 400th Chiron Super Sport, a bare carbon fibre body, tinted dark green has been selected by its owner.
A meticulous process, the finish has weaves from the carbon fibre flowing in the correct direction across all separate panels, with each sheet cut at a specific point and in a specific way.
Each of the panel’s weave also matches with those that it neighbours, creating one unbroken flow across the body.
Then, the choice of leaving it unpainted is an entirely purposeful bespoke creation, specifically designed to accentuate the material.
Elsewhere, such as on the iconic Bugatti horseshoe grille and EB logo wheel caps, featured are touches of ‘Fierce’ that blend seamlessly with the tinted carbon fibre panels.
Meanwhile, its engine cover is finished in a subtle ‘Nocturne’ shade, and completing the exterior is a set of lightweight and extremely strong Super Sport Magnesium wheels.
Inside, selected by the client is a full leather upholstery combination split of ‘Green’ and ‘Beluga Black’ for the seats.
‘Beluga Black’ further dominates the interior, subtly emphasized with touches like the bare carbon fibre steering wheel top and bottom, and the ‘Black Anodized’ interior trim parts.
Lastly, fitment of the optional Sky View roof floods the entire interior with natural light, revealing the intricate craftsmanship of every detail.
Next, as it is widely known by now, harbouring at its heart is Bugatti’s 8.0-liter W16 engine, developing 1,176-kW/1,600 Hp at 7,100 rpm and 1,600 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 7,000 rpm.
Paired with the transmission’s seven-speed dual-clutch controlled shifting, this bug is capable of accelerating to 300 Km/h in 12.1 seconds, with a top speed of 440 Km/h.
That said, just 100 more of the Chiron Super Sport will be created, as originally it was revealed that production of this hyper sports car will only see a run of 500.
Bugatti Automobiles’ president, Christophe Piochon, concluded, “Every single part of the Chiron is a masterpiece of engineering, and bringing it all together requires the most dedicated and experienced specialists in the world. Simply installing the carbon fibre panels over the advanced monocoque chassis requires a level of precision that only the most skilled craftspeople possess. Our painting or finishing process is so detailed that to achieve the desired effect requires up to eight layers in the top coat alone, each one polished to a perfect, deep and lustrous mirror finish. This level of detail can only be achieved with the right blend of passion and expertise, and to do it to such a high standard so consistently over 400 vehicles and beyond is what defines Bugatti.”
