The toll rates for Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA) and Kajang-Seremban Expressway (LEKAS) will be reduced starting 12.01am 1 Jan 2023. This was shared by Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi on his social media site.

Talks of this reduction was announced by the previous prime minister Ismail Sabri last October with Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Lebuhraya Kemuning-Shah Alam (LKSA) and Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK) toll fare reduction redacted much earlier on 20th Oct 2022.

Alexander Nanta further added that the reduction is as per the decision made by Cabinet on Dec 21. He further added that there will be a reduction of up to RM0.15 for Class 1 vehicles going through Loke Yew and Mines toll plazas (North & South) on the Besraya Expressway while toll rate for Class 1 on LEKAS Expressway would be down from 0.1811 Cents/KM to 0.1666 Cents/KM on closed toll system. The Ampangan Toll Plaza would however retain its current rate.

To put into perspective, this would mean that on the BESRAYA toll rate which was RM2 would now be RM1.85 while the entire LEKAS stretch which was RM8.30 would now cost RM7.80.

Alexander Nanta also said that, “Through this rate restructuring exercise the government would save an estimated RM1.978 billion in compensation during the concession period, a saving that can be channelled to fund more important needs in the country”.
