- Ronin and Innovit Aftermarket Wheels Enters Malaysian Market
Heads up for keen local car customising enthusiasts, the Ronin and Innovit brand of aftermarket alloy wheels have just entered the local market space. Launched last week, both brands are carried locally by Ronin Motorsports located in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
Starting with the Ronin Flow Form Wheels range, its name comes from the legendary wandering samurai without a lord or master from Japanese lore. Under this line are a selection of performance-oriented wheels consisting of two main designs, those being the RFF-01 and RFF-02.
As the name suggests, Ronin wheels are flow-formed, meaning they are forged at high pressure whilst being spun at high speeds. The process allows the molecular structure to be altered to enhance the alloy’s strength, resulting in wheels that are lighter than those made from regular casting. With that, Ronin claims each wheel weighs a mere 8.4 KG only.
Both the RFF-01 and RFF-02 come in 18x8.5 inch sizing and either 114.3 or 112 PCDs, with the RFF-01 sporting a multi-spoke design that’s engineered with both weight-savings and structural integrity in mind. The RFF-02 design also has the latter two in mind with its engineering, but it sports a slightly different mesh spoke design instead.
Notably, the Ronin range of alloy wheels are proudly designed in Malaysia, but are manufactured in Thailand where it meets the TUV standards of approval. As for price, Ronin Motorsports has tagged the Ronin RFF-01 and RFF-02 at RM4,200 per set
Both wheels are offered in three colour choices, those being Alumite Black, Dark Gun Metal and Matte Copper for the RFF-01, whilst the RFF-02 can be dressed in either Black, Matte Gun Metal and Brushed Silver Aluminium finishes.
Moving on to the Inovit range and, aptly, you can see that these wheels sport a little more show, and that’s because these are intended towards enthusiasts seeking to enhance their car’s aesthetics. The brand originates from Europe where it’s headquartered in, but its wheels are actually made in the state of California, USA.
Unlike the Ronin wheels mentioned earlier, the Inovit range is made using the traditional casting process. The range currently consists of three main designs primarily in 19-inch sizing, and a further seven designs available in a larger 20-inch diameter sizing. At these sizes, it’s plain to see that the Inovit wheels would make perfect additions on things like the Alphard and Vellfire luxury MPVs for instance.
Presently, Ronin Motorsports carries just monobloc designs of the Inovit range, but it plans to add multi-piece designs in the future. As for price, the 19-inch designs are priced from RM6,200 whilst the larger 20-inch types are tagged at a higher starting figure of RM7,500.
Yes, these wheels aren’t exactly cheap, but fret not as Ronin Motorsport is currently holding a special promotion on both wheels by offering a RM1,000 voucher with every set purchased before 31 Dec 2022. Visit Ronin Motorsports at their Glenmarie, Shah Alam showroom for a viewing and more details.
