- Two Million Road Users Set To Enjoy Toll-Free LTU
When the toll-free Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) Expressway, formerly known as the Central Spine Road (CSR), is completed in 2026, it is expected to benefit two million road users, particularly during festive seasons. Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad said the highway, in addition to being toll-free, would help speed up travel time from Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan, saving money on gasoline. “This highway will surely benefit those who carry out business activities and motorists wishing to return to their hometowns during festive celebrations. The LTU will also help traders to transport their goods from Kelantan to Port Klang in a short time,” he said.

Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff, chairman of the Pahang Works, Transport, and Health Committee, and Datuk Zulkipli Nasri, deputy director-general of the Public Works Department, were also present (Infrastructure Sector). The LTU is a high-impact Ministry of Works project that includes six packages spanning over 300 kilometres (km) from Kelantan to Pahang, with a total budget of RM10 billion. Section 3J, for example, calls for the construction of a new four-lane, two-way road stretching 6.95 kilometres from Kampung Seberang Jelai to Kampung Relong, as well as the construction of five bridges, which are expected to be completed in July 2024.
