The Most Expensive New Car Ever Sold At Auction Goes To Bugatti Chiron Profilée
French automaker Bugatti recently announced that the Chiron Profilee, a one-of-a-kind model, currently holds the record for being the most expensive new car ever sold at auction. The enormous numbers in auction stories don't hit as hard as they used to—or as they still should—after a while..
For Bugatti, the Chiron is a success. All 500 of the build slots for the model and its variations have been purchased by Bugatti including the pre-series model, Chiron Profilee which has been sold at a whopping price of RM 45 Mil or ($10,756,914).
Aside from that, the Chiron Profilee offers larger front air intakes, a reworked front splitter that increases front axle downforce, and an expanded horseshoe grille. Meanwhile, the wheels are painted in a distinctive way to set them apart from any other Chiron, and the body of the car is finished in a Bleu Royal Carbon tint with the carbon fibre exposed.
This also includes over 2500 metres of leather strips used to create a woven leather finish inside the car. It should be noted that the Chiron Profilee is just as exclusive as the La Voiture Noire, if not more so, as it is the final new Bugatti to be fitted with a W16 engine.
Under the hood, the Chiron Profilee's quad turbocharged W16 engine generates a powerful 1476 HP. With an impressive acceleration and a top speed of 380 KM/H, this beastly hypercar can accelerate from 0 to 62 KM/H in just 2.3 seconds.
