Lego Taunts "Hardest To Reach" Store With Classic Land Rover Defender
The new LEGO Icons Classic Land Rover Defender 90
Famed toymaker Lego reveals its new campaign featuring the stylish Land Rover Defender through a new video. Thus, the Lego Icons Classic Land Rover Defender 90 is being released just in time for the off-road icon's 75th anniversary.
According to the youtube video, it seems that Lego has set up a new store in the Scottish Highlands to pair with its new tagline which meant the most difficult-to-reach Lego store on the planet.
These include two explorers, Scottish adventurer Aldo Kane and Raha Moharrak, the first Saudi woman to climb Mt. Everest through a challenge in becoming the first to build the new Classic Defender 90 kit which is hidden somewhere in the Scots pinnacles.
Before racing to construct the new 2,336-piece set in adverse weather, the two are seen navigating through an off-road adventure including muddy tracks and rocky roads.
“Bringing the iconic Classic Land Rover Defender to brick life was no easy challenge,” said Kurt Kristiansen, Lego Design Master.
“This prestigious car can take you anywhere, so during the design process, we wanted to infuse the Lego set with that sense of adventure,” he added.
Aside from that, the scenes also show off a yellow Defender 110 indicated as a Lego store on top of a mountain whilst the montage concluded with Lego branding, Land Rover "Classic" logo, and the phrase "Adults Welcome."
The Defender’s blocky lines are transformed almost perfectly into a Lego kit having the completed brick Defender set measures at 6 inches in height and width plus 12.5 inches long.
Although the model is a two-in-one design, it can be put together as either the basic Defender or an off-road model. Once loaded with features like opening doors, hood and functioning steering, there are two engine options outfitted including three different hoods.
If you choose the more adventurous option, the Defender comes with additional goodies such as a roof rack, an engine snorkel, an off-road front bumper with a working winch, side rails, a toolbox, and traction plates.
The Lego Classic Defender 90 will be available on July 1st, but you can get it earlier through VIP access on April 1st at the Lego online store at approx. $239.99 (RM1075.28).
