- Petron Malaysia Launches Hari Raya Road Safety Campaign
Petron is promoting road safety awareness at selected service stations in line with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
To promote road safety awareness during this festive season, Petron Malaysia has launched its ‘Hari Raya Road Safety’ programme. Happening at selected Petron stations nationwide, this programme is done in collaboration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), as well as several brands like Applecrumby, NESQ, Farm Fresh, and snskidz.
Petron’s first Hari Raya Road Safety initiative was launched at the Petron MRR2 Safari station, followed by the Petron Bukit Lanjan Northbound and Petron Sungai Besi Southbound stations. Some on-ground activities were held at these three stations, which included a giveaway of more than 100 packs of 1-litre motorcycle engine oil to lucky Petron P-Miles customers.
Aside from free engine oils, Petron’s campaign partner snskidz, in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), conducts complimentary car seat checks on-site, ensuring that every child travels safely in an appropriate car seat. On top of that, snskidz also provided free car seats to parents in need during the launch and offered valuable information on car seat safety.
Meanwhile, other partners like NESQ and Farm Fresh provide complimentary refreshments for ‘balik kampung’ travellers who stop by at these selected Petron stations, which include free sachets of NESQ’s Kopi Kelasik as well as Farm Fresh’s ready-to-drink milk. For parents with young children or infants, campaign partner Applecrumby provided PureBasics sample diaper packs as part of the redemption for the first 500 customers at these selected Petron stations.
Petron Malaysia Head of Retail Business Shaliza Mohd Sidek
Commenting on this road safety programme launch, Petron Malaysia Head of Retail Business Shaliza Mohd Sidek said, “Petron Malaysia cares deeply about road safety. Over the past decade, we have worked closely with both the PDRM and JPJ as our strategic partners to promote safety programmes.”
“Today, we are pleased to extend this advocacy to the public through our service stations. We hope that, by teaching important but often neglected safety measures like taking necessary breaks during long drives, we can prevent more road accidents from happening,” Shaliza added.
