- Zeekr X & 009 MPV Open for Booking – RM180K* & RM370K*
Order books for both the Zeekr X & 009 MPV have been opened locally with tentative prices of RM180,000 and RM370,000.
This is it. Chinese premium EV marque Zeekr has officially announced the commencement of its Malaysian arm today. To mark this momentous occasion, Zeekr Malaysia (Sentinel Automotive) has officially opened the order books for two of its first models, the Zeekr X SUV crossover and the Zeekr 009 MPV, with indicative ceiling prices of RM180,000 and RM370,000, respectively.
Two variants of the Zeekr X compact EV SUV crossover will be offered for the Malaysian market.
Starting with the Zeekr X, this compact SUV crossover will arrive in two variants for our market, namely the Premium and Flagship AWD. As their names suggest, the former variant gets a more moderate single-motor RWD powertrain setup rated at 268 HP, while the latter top-spec model employs a peppier dual-motor AWD setup with a total system output of 422 HP.
As a result, the single-motor RWD model can go from 0-100 KM/H in a respectable 5.6 seconds, while the peppier dual-motor AWD model reaches the century mark faster at only 3.8 seconds—making it one of the peppiest EV SUVs in our market.
Regardless of variants, both the Zeekr X Premium and Flagship AWD underpin the same Geely SEA platform, which is also shared with other premium EV crossovers such as the smart #1 and the recently-debuted Volvo EX30. Similarly, both variants feature the same 66-kWh battery pack that supports 150 kW DC charging, which sees a 10-80% charge to be completed in just 30 minutes.
Elsewhere, a total of five exterior colourways will be offered to the Malaysian-bound Zeekr X, namely Crystal White, Mist Grey, Grid Grey, Palace Beige, and Pine Green. No matter which colourway you go for, all Zeekr X models will come with a Charcoal Black and Stone Grey interior trim.
Similarly, the Zeekr 009 MPV will also arrive in two variants for our market.
Moving on to the second model, the Zeekr 009 EV MPV is also available in two variants for our market, namely the Luxury 7-seater and the top-spec Ultra Luxury 6-seater. Both variants share the same high-performance dual-motor AWD setup that delivers a total system output of 603 HP and 693 NM, making the Zeekr 009 by far the most powerful luxury MPV in our market.
Battery-wise, the Malaysian-spec Zeekr 009 will employ a sizable 116-kWh battery pack that supplies up to 582 KM of WLTP range while also supporting 150 kW of DC fast charging.
As for the colourways, the 009 MPV gets three exterior colour options, which include Phantom Black, Electric Blue, and Crystal White Pearl. Meanwhile, buyers can also choose from three colour options for its soft Nappa leather cabin upholstery, namely Black, Stone Grey & Polar White, and Midnight Blue & Polar White.
Differentiating the two variants is the seating layout, with the 7-seater model getting a 2-2-3 layout, while the range-topping 6-seater variant gets a more luxurious 2-2-2 layout instead. Regardless of layouts, both models will get the Sofaro First Class Aeronautic seats for the second row, which are equipped with dedicated armrests, seat adjustment controls, adjustable leg rest, as well as ventilated, massage, and memory functions.
The posh seats are complemented by a massive 17-inch OLED roof-mounted display for the rear passengers. Completing the Zeekr 009’s display list are the 15.05-inch OLED touch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 35.95-inch augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD) to complement the metre cluster.
Those who are keen to place a booking on the Zeekr X and the Zeekr 009 via Zeekr Malaysia’s official website, with booking prices set at RM2,000 for the X and RM4,000 for the 009. Besides the indicative prices and booking commencement, Zeekr Malaysia has yet to unveil the specific launch date for both models, so be sure to stay tuned here at Carz.com.my for more updates…
