- BYD Marks 30th Anniversary With 10 Millionth NEV - A Denza Z9
BYD celebrated its 30th anniversary with a major milestone: the roll-off of its 10-millionth new energy vehicle (NEV), a Denza Z9, at the Xiaomo Production Base in Shenzhen.
This achievement cements BYD’s position as a global leader in sustainable mobility and marks a new chapter in its journey.
The Denza Z9, a luxury NEV, was presented to Feng Ji, founder of Game Science and creator of the acclaimed game *Black Myth: Wukong*. Denza’s selection to represent BYD’s 10-millionth vehicle underscores Denza’s importance in BYD’s lineup, signifying the company’s image towards innovation and premium offerings in the new energy segment.
At the event, BYD Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu reflected on the company’s growth. What started as a small startup with just 20 employees has grown into a global corporation with nearly one million staff. He credited BYD’s success to innovation, hard work, and a strong engineering culture.
BYD is the first automaker in the world to reach 10 million NEVs. It took 15 years to build the first 5 million and only 15 months to produce the next 5 million, showcasing rapid progress and technological advancements.
To share BYD’s story, financial journalist Qin Shuo interviewed nearly 100 executives and employees, compiling their insights into the book *The Soul of Engineers*. This book highlights the engineering culture that drives BYD forward.
Looking ahead, BYD plans to invest RMB100 Billion (RM 62 Billion) in smart technologies that integrate AI into automotive systems. This investment will enhance its entire vehicle lineup and ensure BYD remains at the forefront of innovation.
With a focus on sustainability and cutting-edge technology, BYD is well-positioned to lead the future of mobility.
