- Face-lifted Toyota Corolla Cross Teased – From RM140K Est.
UMW Toyota Motor has published a teaser on the new Corolla Cross facelift, estimatedly priced from RM140,000 onwards.
Following its debut in Thailand earlier this year, the facelifted Toyota Corolla Cross is finally going to make its local debut, as indicated by this teaser published by UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT). On its official website, it appears that this facelifted SUV crossover will debut with a tentative price starting from RM140,000 onwards.
Thai-spec Toyota Corolla Cross Facelift
And just like the Thai-spec model, we can expect the Malaysian-bound Corolla Cross facelift to get the same upgrades, with the most noticeable one being its newly-designed front grille that features a cleaner design with hexagonal-shaped inserts. Also new on the facelifted Thai model are the redesigned LED taillights, new 18-inch alloy wheels for all variants, and a panoramic sunroof—although we doubt the latter will make its way into the local-spec model.
What’s confirmed is that we’ll get some interior equipment upgrades for the Malaysian-spec Corolla Cross facelift to go along with the design tweak. Chief amongst which is the new 10.1-inch central infotainment display that now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. On top of the new screen, the facelifted model also comes with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) as well as a Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) with remote engine start via the Toyota MY app.
Elsewhere, UMWT also confirmed that the non-GR Sport variant of the facelifted Corolla Cross will come in five colourways, namely Celestite Grey Metallic, Red Mica Metallic, Silver Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Dark Turquoise—the latter is the latest edition and only reserved for the HEV variant. Meanwhile, the GR Sport variant will only get three two-tone colour options with an all-black roof: Platinum White Pearl, Red Mica Metallic, and Dark Turquoise.

What’s interesting about this is that UMWT has discreetly revealed that the facelifted Corolla Cross GR Sport will come with a hybrid (HEV) powertrain setup, which mimics what’s been offered in the Thai market. For reference, the Thai-spec Corolla Cross facelift HEV uses the same 1.8-litre 4-cyl 2ZR-FXE hybrid system as its predecessor, which delivers a total system output of 121 HP. The non-hybrid model, on the other hand, continues to be powered by its predecessor’s tried-and-tested 1.8-litre 4-cyl nat-asp 2ZR-FE rated at 138 HP and 172 NM.
As we mentioned earlier, the facelifted Toyota Corolla Cross will be estimatedly priced from RM140,000 onwards for our market, making it slightly more expensive than the ongoing model, which retails at RM137,900 for the baseline 1.8V variant and up to RM147,000 for the top-spec GR Sport model. We can expect to learn more about its pricing and variants as we get closer to its launch date, which is set to take place at the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 later in December.
