Motorists holding a Probationary Driving Licence (PDL) can now convert it to a Competent Driving Licence (CDL) through the MyJPJ app starting today (Feb 17).

In a press statement, Road Transport Department (JPJ) DG, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli announced that this new feature is expected to benefit 2.38 million eligible PDL holders across the country - eliminating the need for them to visit JPJ counters.

PDL holders can now download or update their MyJPJ app to access the new CDL application feature. To apply, users just need to log-in and navigate to the "Driver Licensing" section of the app and select "CDL Application."

Users will then be prompted to choose their preferred license duration, with a maximum validity being 10 years after which they can proceed with the online payment process.

The CDL payment rates are set at RM20 per year for a B-class licence and RM30 per year for a D-class licence.

After completing the payment and selecting the necessary options, applicants will receive a notification regarding their application status.

According to Datul Aedy further, “This new feature is easy, quick, time-saving, flexible and user friendly therefore, motorists are encouraged to take advantage of the convenience offered for a seamless licence conversion process."
