- Zeekr 9X PHEV Specs Unveiled – Up to 1,381 HP, 70-kWh Battery
Specs for the new Zeekr 9X flagship SUV have been revealed, featuring up to 1,381 HP and a large 70-kWh PHEV battery.
Months after making its global debut at the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show, we’re finally getting the specs for the new Zeekr 9X. And as expected, Zeekr’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model boasts some pretty serious numbers, befitting its status as the brand’s new flagship model.
According to CarNewsChina, who cited information from filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and official product presentations from Zeekr, the new 9X is built upon Geely’s new SEA-S modular platform.
Also known as Haohan-S, the PHEV setup on the 9X uses a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol engine as its core, boasting a peak power output of 275 hp (205 kW), while retaining a decent thermal efficiency of over 46%, Zeekr claims. More importantly, the automaker also claims the 2.0-litre engine is about 5% to 10% more fuel efficient than a typical 1.5-litre turbocharged engine used on many other PHEV systems in China.
Complementing the turbo-petrol lump are three silicon carbide electric motors that deliver a staggering combined power output of 1,381 hp (1,030 kW), making it the most powerful Zeekr to date, surpassing the manic, 1,247 hp-rated Zeekr 001 FR. As a result, the automaker claims the 9X can complete a 0-100 km/h run in just 3.1 seconds, while its top speed is capped at 240 km/h.
Juicing the 9X are two NMC battery options sourced from CATL’s Freevoy, namely a smaller 55.1-kWh pack or the larger 70-kWh unit—the latter is the largest capacity ever offered in a PHEV. The 70-kWh unit offers a pure electric range of up to 302 km (CLTC), but Zeekr has yet to unveil the claimed combined range for the 9X.
Thanks to its 900-volt battery architecture, the 9X supports 6C fast charging, allowing for a 20% to 90% charge in just nine minutes.
Pre-sales for the new Zeekr 9X are set to begin later in Aug at the upcoming Chengdu Motor Show 2025, followed by its deliveries later in Q3. Although no exact price was given, Zeekr said the 9X should be priced around CNY 600,000 to CNY 900,000 (RM353,825 to RM530,738).
