- Proton e.MAS 5 Launch Date Set For Oct 30
Mark your calendars, folks. The Proton e.MAS will officially launch on Oct 30.

At last, after much speculation, we now have a firm official launch date for the Proton e.MAS 5 – what is poised to be Malaysia’s most affordable EV. The national automaker posted on its official social media channel to confirm which recently with a 9-day countdown.
From which, we can confirm the Proton e.MAS 5 will officially launch on Oct 30.
Bookings for the e.MAS 5 are already opened at the nominal fee of just RM99 and at estimated starting prices ranging between RM60,000 and RM80,000.

As a refresher, bookings are opened both online and through authorised Proton e.MAS dealers with a nominal fee of just RM99. Proton had also announced an estimated price ranging between RM60,000 and RM80,000 prior too.
To date, the e.MAS 5 has garnered over 3,000 bookings, many seeking to captilaise on the special ‘Early Bird’ promotion Proton has on offer. Key to which is an exclusive limited edition Proton e.MAS TnG NFC card with RM100 pre-loaded credit plus a RM500 booking fee rebate.
Up to 325 KM of WLTP-rated range is promised from the Premium variant, which packs a larger 40.16 kWh battery versus the Prime variant's 30.12 kWh pack.

Two variants were confirmed prior, those being a ‘base’ Prime guise primed with 30.12 kWh battery pack promising 225 KM of WLTP-rated range, followed by an up-specced Premium guise boasting a larger 40.16 kWh battery pack and longer 325 KM WLTP range.
Besides final pricing, Proton will also announce after-sales packages for the e.MAS 5 on Oct 30. This is largely expected to mirror what the automaker already offers on hand through the bigger e.MAS 7 EV C-SUV.
Expect the e.MAS 5 to boast similar after-sales and warranty coverage as what's offered in the larger e.MAS 7 EV C-SUV pictured above.

For reference, all variants of the Proton e.MAS 7 comes with 6-year, unlimited mileage base vehicle warranty plus a separate 8-year or 160,000 KM high voltage battery and components warranty.
At launch, e.MAS 7 early adopters were also rewarded with a complimentary 7 kW home wallbox charger worth RM1,500, complimentary V2L adaptor worth RM500, and a 5-year unlimited internet data plan worth RM1,800.
