- smart #5 Bookings Now Opened With RM2,000 Booking Fee

smart #5 Premium (left) and smart #5 Brabus (right) are both opened for bookings now at a nominal fee of just RM2,000.

It looks like the PRO-NET (Proton New Energy Technology) EV arm of national automaker Proton are set for a very busy final quarter, and not just for the e.MAS 5. Today, the subsidiary also announced that bookings for the new smart #5 EV SUV are now opened.
First previewed locally during the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025) in May, and again to local press back in Aug, the Geely-runned brand’s largest-sized model to date is now a step closer to its official launch.
Bookings can now be placed at a fee of RM2,000. Additionally, keen prospects can place bookings directly at smart Automobile brand dealership outlets nationwide, online via the smart Automobile Malaysia website, or through the Hello smart App.

Only the Premium and Brabus variants were mentioned. It's unclear if the baseline 'Pro' variant will be offered at a later stage.

No word when exactly PRO-NET intends to officially launch the #5 locally, but we reckon this could take place shortly after the e.MAS 5 – likely the coming weeks after which. This will be the brand’s third new offering launched locally in equally as many years.
In its press release, PRO-NET mentions both the Premium and Brabus performance range-topping variants specifically being opened for bookings. Four exterior paintjob options are available for the Premium variant, whereas the Brabus gets three.
There seems to be no mention for the baseline ‘Pro’ variant detailed form the second preview. It’s unclear if PRO-NET has elected to drop this variant for the Malaysian market, but this could change later on.
Both Premium and Brabus variants of the #5 share the same 100 kWh NMC-type battery pack that can accept up to 400 kW of DC charging inputs besides 22 kW AC.

As a refresher, both the smart #5 Premium and Brabus share the same 100 kWh NMC-type battery pack plus the ability to draw in 22 kW AC and up to 400 kW DC charging inputs. The latter fast-charging method also promises 10-80% re-charges in just 20 minutes.
The Premium guise will harness a single rear e-motor and rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup rated at 358 hp and 373 Nm. This guise also promises a claimed maximum WLTP-rated range of 590 KM.
As for the Brabus performance range-topper, it packs a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup instead with 637 hp and 710 Nm available. This variant promises 0-100 km/h sprints in just 3.8 secs plus a 200 km/h V-Max and a WLTP-rated max range of 540 KM.

Key highlights on board include a massive triple digital display setup, AR-HUD, a full-suite of ADAS features, 20-speaker and 2,000-watt Sennheiser audio suite, and more.

Critically, both both the smart #5 Premium and Brabus get the full active safety package, featuring ADAS functions like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Lane-Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Front (FCTA) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA), and many more.
Other key notable features headlining both variants include a massive triple digital display setup in the dash powered by the AMD V2000 chip, an augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD), a 20-speaker Sennheiser 2,000-watt audio suite, panoramic glass roof, and more.
