- Ford Everest Gains V6-Engined ‘Tremor’ Guise In The Middle East
Ford just launched what is now known as the most powerful version of the Everest SUV in the Middle East this week, and it bears the 'Tremor' trimline badge.

The Ford Everest, the SUV-bodied twin to the Ford Ranger, just launched in the Middle East with a new V6 petrol-engined ‘Tremor’ guise earlier this week. Said variant noted is perhaps the closest the Everest will ever get to being a ‘Raptor’.
As a refresher, only its Ranger pick-up truck twin benefits officially with the ‘Raptor’ performance treatment. Locally in Malaysia, the Ranger Raptor sits as the performance flagship for said nameplate, and is available in both 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel and 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo petrol powertrain options across three guises.
This is perhaps the closest the Everest model will ever to get to equalling the Raptor performance flagship treatment seen in its Ranger pick-up truck twin.

Back to the Everest Tremor noted, said ‘super-SUV’ offering was unveiled at the Liwa International Festival in Abu Dhabi. Visually, this special mirrors the Australian market Everest Tremor – it rides on bespoke Bilstein suspension that brings a 26 mm (1-inch) ride height lift, plus 17-inch black wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres.
Of couse, the real ‘meat’ of the changes lie underneath, and this Middle East market version of the Everest Tremor gains a 2.7-litre V6 EcoBoost twin-turbo petrol mill that’s paired with Ford’s signature 10-speed automatic transmission plus a standard four-wheel-drive (4WD) system.

This Middle East market version visually mirrors the Everest Tremor marketed in Australia. It even rides on bespoke Bilstein suspension with a 1-inch lift plus 17-inch black wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres.

Said V6 mill is lifted from the American market Ford F-150 full-sized pick-up truck model and is in fact closely related to the familiar V6 mill fielded in the Ranger Raptor noted. In the Everest Tremor, said V6 outputs 351 hp and a meaty 500 Nm of twist, thus making this the most powerful version of the Everest SUV ever marketed.
According to Ford, this new Everest Tremor for the Middle East detailed delivers “class-leading power and torque,” with the blue oval marque claiming a serious performance edge over segment contemporaries marketed in said region – Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Nissan X-Terra, as well as the Isuzu MU-X, amongst others.
Apart from the peppier powertrain, there are no other changes to note.

Like the Ranger Raptor, the Everest Tremor detailed stands as the nameplate’s performance range-topper in the Middle East. Below which, Ford also markets the Everest in said region in familiar Active, Sport and Platinum trimlines too.
What do you folks reckon then, should Ford consider offering such a beastly variant of the Ranger’s full-bodied twin here in ASEAN? Share your take in the comments below then…
