- MBSA Will Tow Abandoned Cars From Jan 2026
Starting Jan next year, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will begin towing abandoned vehicles, particularly those left behind by workshops in public parking bays.
Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim explained that many of these cars are either abandoned or parked by workshops in spaces meant for other businesses, causing inconvenience and taking up valuable parking for shoppers and other commercial activities.
“These abandoned vehicles not only block parking but also affect the city’s image,” he said during a full board meeting at Wisma MBSA.

The council’s enforcement team will target vehicles that have already received notices but remain unclaimed after the specified period.
"Towing charges are set at RM300 for cars with tyres and RM400 for those without, and if the owners cannot be traced, the cost may fall on taxpayers," Fauzi added.

He stressed that this move aims to keep public parking spaces accessible, maintain the city’s appearance, and prevent unnecessary losses in council revenue.
