Proton Shifted 157,976 Units In 2025, Charts 3.3% Growth & New Export Record
2025 stood as a good year for Proton as group-wide sales stood at 157,976 units to mark a 3.3% growth over the previous year.

Earlier today, national automaker Proton disclosed its 2025 total sales figures and performance via an official press release. From which, it appears P1 charted several key peaks and milestones last year.
Having shifted 14,655 units in Dec 2025, this saw the automaker's 2025 year-to-date (YTD) group-wide total sales total stand at 157,976 units. In turn, this represents a modest yet positive 3.3% growth over what the automaker charted in 2024.
Besides that, Proton touts a 0.7% growth in market share too, which now stands at 19.4%. The national automaker heralds this as a positive result considering that total-industry-volume (TIV) estimates had contracted by 0.2% to just 814,949 units.

The Saga continues to be P1's 'bread and butter' with 74,013 units shifted throughout 2025.

Another key driver domestically speaking is the face-lifted 2025 Proton X50 that charted a YTD sales total of 28,057 units to become Malaysia's best-selling B-SUV too.

Another key driver domestically speaking is the face-lifted 2025 Proton X50 that charted a YTD sales total of 28,057 units to become Malaysia's best-selling B-SUV too.
Key drivers here include the new Proton Saga model, which charted a YTD total sale of 74,013 units in 2025 – the nameplate’s highest annual sales total since both 2011 and in the Geely partnership era.
Another notable feat from the sales of the Saga was its 15.1% year-on-year (YoY) sales growth in Dec 2025 where 7,975 units were shifted. In other words, the Saga remains the ‘bread and butter’ for P1 yet again throughout 2025.
Next, the face-lifted 2025 Proton X50 continues to be Malaysia’s best-selling B-segment SUV (B-SUV) offering for the fifth consecutive year. The model’s YTD total sales in 2025 stood as 28,057 units, marking an 18.6% YTD growth over 2024.
Both the X70 and e.MAS 7 C-SUVs continue to be top-sellers, the latter especially as it snatched the crown as Malaysia's best-selling EV.

As for the larger X70, Proton touts a cumulative total registration of 112,836 units since the C-SUV nameplate’s initial inception. Both the S70 C-segment sedan and X90 D-SUV, on the other hand, stood as the best-sellers in their respective market spaces too.
Another top-seller from the now Tanjong Malim-based national automaker is of course its all-electric Proton e.MAS 7 EV C-SUV offering. Locally, the model stood as the undisputed outright best-selling EV in Malaysia for five consecutive months (June to Oct).
Not just a domestic best-seller, the e.MAS 7 is also a key driver for Proton with its overseas export next to the Saga and X50.

Domestic sales aside, Proton also highlighted a record-breaking year in terms of overseas expansion and export charted by its Proton International Corporation Sdn Bhd (PICSB) arm. This is evident from over 6,000 registrations YTD charted by said arm this year.
Versus the previous year (2024), said marks a 26% growth and stands as the highest ever export volume charted by Proton since 2012. Besides the e.MAS 7, key drivers include models like the Saga and X50 that saw 3,109 and 1,747 units exported respectively.
