SCAM! Woman Makes 52 Transactions Worth RM255,250 Into Eight Different Accounts
Believe it or not, a woman only realized she was cheated by a scammer after performing 52 transactions that came up to a total of RM 255,250 into eight separate accounts in an incident in Mergong, Kedah.

The woman, who works as a clerk at a bookstore, claimed that got excited after receiving a message via the WhatsApp application that told her she had won a contest worth RM3,300, along with a Toyota Alphard.
The contest was said to be organized by a well-known food and beverage product manufacturer.
The victim, who refused to be named, said the scammer then asked for a payment in the sum of money as a condition to get the prize.

"I, who did not think much of it, continued to withdraw some savings and also borrowed money from my family just to receive the prize," said the victim.
The victim then transferred money at least 52 times amounting to RM255,250 into eight different accounts.
The money transfer was done by cash deposit at automated teller machines (ATMs), bank counters and through ATM machines.
However, the victim finally realized that they were actually being cheated by a contest scammer when the suspect continued to urge him to make the money transfer.
The victim then lodged a police report in Alor Setar on May 10.
In regard to that, the Head of the Kedah Commercial Crime Investigation Department, Superintendent Elias Omar confirmed that his department had received a report on the fraud case.
