More Than 50,000 Vehicles Are Expected To Visit Kelantan This Weekend!
After the government allowed inter-state travel, Malaysians took the opportunity to travel all over the country, to visit their families, or for a short holiday.
The Royal Malaysia Police recently released a report stating that they expect more than 50,000 vehicles to enter Kelantan this weekend. This is a sharp increase compared to the number of cars that entered before the recent Movement Control Order 3.0 earlier this year, which recorded 11,000 vehicles.
According to Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Shafien Mamat, the number of vehicles entering the state has increased to about 20 percent starting at 12.01am, last Monday, when the state border was reopened.
“The number is expected to increase by more than triple this weekend, with people returning to their hometowns and domestic tourists on holiday in the state,” said Shafien at a Community Programme held at Pasar Besar Siti Aishah, Jelawat.
However, people who want to avoid traffic jams while returning to their hometown can consider using public transport like the train.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) has announced that they will increase the number of electric trains and KTM Intercity services starting tomorrow.
The company is also offering a discount of RM5 to the first 10,000 passengers. Customers who buy tickets worth more than RM40 can use the promo code BOLEHRENTAS from October 14 to 24 to be entitled to the discount.
