Lexus Teases the 2023 IS 500 V8, Launching Soon This Week!

Lexus announces the new IS 500 V8 powered engine to be debut soon on July 21, 2022. 

The IS 500 sedan will be entering Japanese market offering a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine churning out 352kW and 536Nm to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

According to Lexus, the top speed is rated at 4.5 seconds from zero to 100km/h. 

Details on infotainment wise has not been released although previous edition incorporated with 10.3-inch Touchscreen Display and 8.0-inch metre cluster. 

On top of that, only 500 units of IS 500 will be produced by having potential owners to purchase through a lottery system and available in a limited run for the right-hand-drive Japanese market.

Safety aspects likely to be comprises of Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 suite, beginning with Pre-Collision System (PCS), which includes Frontal Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian and bicyclist detection and Emergency Steering Assist (ESA). Additional standard systems are Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Intelligent High Beams and Road Sign Assist (RSA).
