A Porsche-Infused Volkswagen T3 B32, The 1985 Paris-Dakar Rally Transporter

An outward demeanour of a VW, but with a soul of a Porsche. This rare T3 Transporter van has been listed up for sale by the Porsche Classic Centre Gelderland.
Priced at EUR 364,900 (MYR 1,720,935), it has a Porsche VIN registration and is officially classified as a Porsche vehicle in its German papers.

Porsche-infused, this VW T3 B32 has a rear-mounted flat-six engine carried from a Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera, and a Porsche manual transmission.
Producing 228 Hp/170-kW and a top speed of 185 Km/h, all of the power goes to the rear axle, with new suspensions and sturdier brakes completing the overall setup.

Aesthetically, its ‘Pearl Mutter’ hued body features the addition of front and rear skirts, side vents for engine cooling, 16-inch Fuchs wheels and a larger exhaust.
Meanwhile inside, the upholstery is in beige leather with black trims, accentuated by the Porsche badge on the steering wheel and extra gauges on the lower end of the centre console.

Overall, with a mileage of 130,770 Km, it is still in good condition, despite some needed TLC in areas such as the exterior paint, rusted exhaust tip and the front door panels.
History-wise, 1985 was the inception of this van project, where Porsche needed a fast mode of transport to carry spare parts during the Paris-Dakar rally campaign.
Notably, the original VW T3 Transporter’s power didn't seem to cut it, hence why Porsche engineers decided to upgrade the van to be more powerful.
That said, only seven examples of this van were built at the Porsche Welscherath workshop during the time, and this one was exclusively made for Porsche’s ex-CEO, Peter W. Schutz.
